BlrwestSiR Posted January 15, 2021 Author Posted January 15, 2021 Thanks @DocRob and @GazzaS! I dug through my decal collection and found a set of Montex masks for a BF-110 with a shark mouth so I decided to give them a whirl. I needed to tweak them slightly to make them fit the Triebflugel's nose but it was pretty minor. And with the masks off. It's going to be colourful that's for sure. 10

Absolutely gorgeous that sharkmouth and very nice mottling. 2 1

belugawhaleman Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 It's really looking great. I've enjoyed watching this build. I would like to build one of these kits myself---I've even downloaded the instructions from the Miniart site for perusal. 3 1

The sewers offered to fix them for me instead. Probably for the better. 2
BlrwestSiR Posted January 15, 2021 Author Posted January 15, 2021 @belugawhaleman, it is a very nice kit. Simple, but a fun build. There's a couple options as far as "variants" go and markings are up to your imagination. Carl 4 1

Carl : Yes, I can see that there are a lot of variations in markings. it's part of the fun of this kind of "what if" kit. I saw somewhere, a Japanese version. I think that would be cool to build. Anyway, I think you have done a fine job so far. thanks for sharing your work. 4
BlrwestSiR Posted January 16, 2021 Author Posted January 16, 2021 Thanks folks! I started on the landing gear. I forgot I'd bought some brass outriggers from Aerocraft so those were primed first. Oops, forgot the second pic. 6 1
BlrwestSiR Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 I got a bit more done on the landing gear. The retraction struts are in silver now and I painted the tires on the outriggers. I had some extra challenges in getting them done. The rockets in the nose are now done as well. Red with a silver tip. 6 1

GusMac Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Makes me wonder if we should use cats as a 'handicapping' system. Easy shake'n'bake kit - you need at least 3 cats on your lap Ernie's Fokker kit - cat free .. and various levels in between! 3
BlrwestSiR Posted January 19, 2021 Author Posted January 19, 2021 Thanks gents! Glad to be a bad influence. As for cat handicaps, that might be an idea for a group build. Meantime, I finished the landing gear and installed it. I finally found the hardest part of the kit which is to get the clamshell doors for the gear glued on and stay on. I had to glue a couple of them on more than once but it's all done now. Overall, a very fun build with pretty much no hiccups or issues. I can't wait to see what Miniart comes out with next. Carl 7
Kaireckstadt Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Beautiful build Carl! I love the sharkmouth! 2 1
