Your projects for 2014

Hi guys and gals,

For the last 3 or 4 years, I've been drifting. I've completed models on almost an ad-hoc basis. If I've been lucky, the stars have aligned, and I get something completed.

It's time that I tried to regiment things a little, so for next year, I have some plans.

Everything is subject to change, but I expect to build the following:

  • 1:32 Revell He 111 with HPH detail set, in an engineering study
  • 1:32 HPH Supermarine Walrus
  • 1:48 Tamiya He 219 with full Aires detail set

This should allow time to complete my WW1 projects for the Great War Group Build, and perhaps throw another un-named project into the mix.

Whilst schedules are the antichrist for some, for others they work.

What are YOUR plans for 2014?

My 2014 plans are :

  • 1:32 Hasegawa P47D "Slick Chick" I binned her to finish the Russian Jug she is ready to paint now.
  • 1:32 Hasegawa FW190A8/R11 using Owl Resin conversion
  • 1:32 Hasegawa FW190A5-U14 using Eagle Parts conversion (the supplied tail is nasty, I will scratch build a "C" tail)
  • 1:32 Revell Ju88A-1 convert to Ju88G-1 Mistel 2 KG200 using AIMS conversion (already started cleaning resin parts)
  • Either ZM's He219, will model after NASM's 219 or Tamiya's 1:32 P51, Swiss version.*

*Subject to reality check with bench time and review builds.  Unless I turn into a building machine like Matt there will be some modifications

Have started these and will hope to nail down by end of year or very early 2014.

  • Hasegawa FW190A8 KG200 (see Ju88 Mistel 2)
  • Planet Model/Hasegawa FW190C-V18/U1 Conversion

Oh no.... It's the Plastic Planner!

Well... I can plan all i like, but I have two shortcomings.

I build to slow and am too easily distracted.

But... I'm willing to do a stab in the dark:

• 1/32 WnW Camel

• 1/32 Revell Bf108 Taifun

• and if time permits their new 1/32 Ta154 too.

Interesting but stress inducing question. Finishing a backlog of started projects

Such as the 1/32 Beaufighter, PCM Tempest, HP 0/400 Bloody Paralysers ( plural yes,

1/28 and 1/32 both scratchbuilds). Have just started on the 1/32 Spitfire 21 kitbash.

HK Models Lancaster is on top of the pile once it is available, really looking forward to

that one.

Then there is MDC 's Typhoon

And no doubt others will be joined ( pun intended) along the way ( Meteor? )

Hi All.

I hate planning..... but, ......

What I have to finish in 2013:

  • WNW Fokker D VII for the build review.
  • Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk IX for the build review.
  • Academy 1/32 F-16 B for a customer

What I have to do in 2014:

  • Fujimi 1/24Ferrari 355 Spider (*)
  • Hasegawa 1/24 Ferrari 348 TB (*)
  • Hasegawa 1/24 Ferrari 328 GTB (*)

What I should want to build in 2014:

  • Tamiya 1/32 A6M5 Type 52 Zero (light and sound)
  • Finish a part of my started projects (Trumpeter 1/32 Mig 17, Trumpeter 1/32 F-14D Tomcat, etc......)
  • New kits that will come out in 2014 ( DO-335, Komet, etc...)

The Ferrari's will be on another forum as there is no topic here for Cars.

It will be an exchange. For every car I build (for the same guy) I will receive a 1/32 Tamiya plane.

So, even as I'm retreated, a lot of work is waiting....... :)

Cheers,

Jamme

Well anything would be a bonus, but since I am winding down the reviewing I suppose I have no real excuses

Just bought the Italeri S-100, but think I will try the vosper mtb first

Some simple Russian WWII armour and the odd 109

Who knows, but either way I am desperate to actually model again - I really miss it

Hi Jeroen, the Taifun is one of my favourite aeroplanes. Didn't know there was a 1:32 kit of it. Is the Revell any good and still widely available?

Cheers,

Geoff

Interesting topic, and one I've been mulling over myself lately. I currently have 3 more projects to, (hopefully), finish by the end of this year. I've ordered most of the AM I'll need to work on my HK B-17, so that will be started by the Dec-Jan timeframe. I also plan to get the HK B-25H, whenever that gets released, so there's that as well. My other  main projects will be;

Special Hobby G.50 Freccia in 151 Gruppo livery

Me109E4 in JG 2 "Richthofen" livery, (probably Helmut Wick's mount)

Phase 1 construction of my HO model railroad

My goal, starting this summer, is to construct a few WWI dioramas each year until November of 2018, as a personal tribute for the centennial.

Although, I have been known to toss a schedule to the wind and blindly strike out on a whim! :D

Mmmmhhhh,

I'm always too enthusiastic and impulsive... not to mention too easily distracted and often too tired because of working shifts. So, I should really be content if I could finish a Focke-Wulf, a Pacific sunject and a WW 1 subject. All extra models would be a bonus! Three finished models would be a 300% improvement over this year if 2013 continues as it has run until now... ;)

Well ... my 2014 will be a bit up and down ... still putting the finishing touches to the "Afrika Korps" Diorama ... At least I have a name for it now "Planning the next move" ...

I'll be starting (around December-ish) a side-by-side build of the Bf109-G ... by Trumpeter, Revell and Hasegawa ... to see if there is any real fuss between the three ... all will have various corrections and PE work done - along with the same paint and markings, so esentially it will be a "Time/Cost" comparrission build - for my own interest.

And I want to build at least one of my Tamiya kits, one of my Zoukei-Mura kits and an Eduard Bf109E-1 ... to add to my experience CV.

Heinz Bar's Fw190A-7, Walter Nowotny's A-5 (when decals arrive!) ... and my Pz.35(t) to add to my "France May 1940" dio'

Uhhh, well for me too...

But I considered it Thinkful Wishing... a 1/32 Taifun would be a real seller.

So, what does Jeroen know, what we don't...?

:)

well ... The Bf108 can wait for all I care ...

But a Ta-154 would be welcome!! :)

... Still think it's a typo though!

I think I'm going to try to finish off stuff that I've started and has fallen by the wayside.

So:

Planet Bu 181 with panzerfaust

Planet BV 40V-1

Cammett's Arado E-377/He 162 'paper' mistel
