What did you find under the Christmas tree?

I'm on the fence about the Lotus myself. I'd like to get it but NuNu/Beemax have announce an MP4/4 now so I may get that instead.

My only reason for hesitation is, I don´t like the turbo era engines. I´ve built the Renault RE20 and the engine is somehow uncool. I´ve no love left for these minimal ccm max turbo blast type of thingies, but that would be the same with the announced MP4/4
Nice catch with the Lancia, Carl, a true icon, but I would have gone white.

Cheers Rob

I hear you Rob. Turbos almost seem like a bit of a cheat. Plus aurally, they don't have the scream that a NA engine can have.

That's being said, I've always had an addiction for the MP4/4 due to its season record of 15 wins in 16 races which is I guess now overshadowed by this year's Red Bull car with 22 out of 23 wins.

As for the Lancia, I agree the white one is a nicer scheme but it was $50 more. As the kit decals have some errors, I figured I would put the difference towards replacement decals.

These were the two under the tree for me.

The F4 was from my wife - she knew how much I enjoyed the F14 she gave me last year, so got me this one unprompted. Think I'll save it for after the Viggen - I feel I might need a nice simple build after it!

The Mig was from the kids. I've always fancied doing a Fishbed and these Eduard kits seem to be regarded as the best out there.

I´ve two of these still to build along with a bunch of goodies. I would fancy the Mig boxing with Indian markings, they are so colorful. They look like great kits.
Have fun with your two arch enemies Gus :D.

Cheers Rob

The old Revell Gemini Capsule looks mighty good and would hope when you build the kit, you do a build thread for us.

Definitely will. This will be a re-build for me. I’m looking forward to this second build at my present skill set! Attached is my first build.

I'm a little late to the game here; went into the hospital New Years Eve with chest pain. I spent three days there; even with a stress test they found nothing and sent me home. It turns out I got a false negative on the stress test - I had an ambulance ride two days later. Three stents, and I'm on the road to recovery. Not a good way to start 2024.

Santa, though, was pretty good to me:

My new favorite shirt

A new tool. I'm not sure where I saw this - maybe I'll do a review when I get a chance.

And a couple of kits. I hope to enter one into the Group Build.

{ I ran out of likes ...sorry }.

I treated Myself  to very old Roman Coins { 6 in a set } with Roman Emperors heads showing ...

And 2 coins thatformed  the treasure from SS CAIRO that had sunk many many many years ago to depths that is more than The Titanic.  Boring to many but I love COINS.

Maru, THAT is just WAY too COOL !!!!! Thank you so much for sharing that.  VERY interesting and I , for one , had no idea regular folks could obtain such coins. I may have to look into this. Such fabulous history to hold in one’s hand.  Thanks again !

You are welcome.

I usually buy MY Coins from the Royal Mint based in Wales. They have been producing  English Monarch Coins since time immemorial

Or the London  Mint Office  who  just sell sets .....etc...(their address is conjoined to that of the Royal Mint.).

https://www.royalmint.com/shop/world/united-states/

Have a peek.scroll down to see amazing American Coins from the past.

They sell Gold, Silver, Bullion and world coins too.And commemorative  Coins.

Wow, looking at Roman coins that look as new and detailed as the change in my pocket. That’s pretty impressive!
Dad use to bring home change from his TDY trips in the Army Air Corps then USAF from ‘47-‘77.  I use to have a bunch of them but when he died I gave his collection and mine to my oldest son that got into collecting them.
I did keep all of his US Mint Walking Liberty silver dollars.
