ScottsGT
Hey guys, proud dad moment. Today my son was part of the Mecum Auction in Indy with a car he built in a matter of just over a month. He works for a semi-retired wealthy guy that dabbles in cars as a hobby. From old to new, he buys, builds and flips them. He started with basically an almost stock ‘62 Corvette and installed an LT4 supercharged engine, 8 speed auto, new wiring harness, aftermarket IRS (factory was fixed axle in ‘62) and had to make it all work together including getting the computer to work with the engine and transmission. Even though it seemed like auction prices were a little weak across the board (I think yesterday’s stock market shenanigans had folks spooked) it pulled $160K sale price at the hammer. His first build was an AC Cobra kit car they sold last year for $58k, so this build was quite the jump. During the build When I was his age I was doing the same thing, but no where near this level of builds due to not having the opportunity his boss has given him. I seemed to only find guys that wanted everything done for next to nothing. I can say, I was way ahead of my time 35-40 years ago. 8

The design has it's benefits, I rarely need sunglasses, because of the vertical windshield and the car is much cooler inside, than these modern piece of soap formed glass domes. Just trying to choose a design for the fender vent. Maybe without the outline? 2
BlrwestSiR
I like the first one. Is the maple leaf going to be in a gloss black with the rest in matte? That would be a subtle touch.

Martinnfb
Yesterday I added one fender flares. Hopefully it will help with water shooting out of the well wells . The flares are intended for extreme recon edition Wrangler so it required some extra drilling , but overall I am happy with the result. and then I filled the gas tank. ….. with my tears 2

Yes, that’s 3.274 CAD per liter 😭 Hubert PS: … or 11.506 USD per gallon, or looking at it in another way, I am burning 30 cents (CAD) for every kilometer on my way to the golf course. Even (a lot) more expensive than my lost golf balls budget on the 18 holes 😂

So instead, I'll complain about this: Drove home from a job yesterday to the sound of hissing. Though I had a puncture but turns out it was much worse. There's a leak in the coolant system. A hard line that's part of the throttle body coolant line had a pinhole leak in. Worse part is it's underneath the intake manifold. So I'm now trying to figure out how to get to it and what the part is actually called so I can order a replacement. 1

harv
We made history Here in Missouri. We have always had lower gas prices here. Yesterday I paid $4.59 USA, agollon. My Suberu cost me $60 to fill up....harv
BlrwestSiR
So an update. Didn't find what the part is called but did find a diagram of it and showed it to the parts desk at the local stealership. They found the part number and I duly ordered the bit. $107 plus tax. Then out of curiosity I asked the service dept how much to install it. First quote was $800, then revised to $1200 as they realized there's a lot of work involved. So I passed and am now in the process of disassembling the Element. At this point, the only way to get the line out is to pull the intake manifold. And that's where I am for the moment. I can now actually get to the hard line. Oh and found a dead bird stuck between the rad and condenser. 2
