BlrwestSiR Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Lovely looking 110 and the figures are going to add a nice touch. Carl 1
BlrwestSiR Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 (edited) I got the decals onto the Dreadnought but something went very wrong. They didn't stick at all and actually curled up a bit. I decided to use my last resort decal solution on them and it worked. Brush on the Tamiya X-20A thinner, and leave the decals alone. They'll conform to just about anything at that point as you can see here. Close up showing the detail it's confirmed to But don't do it over acrylic paint or you'll have a huge mess. Wow, that's something I never would have tried. 2 1

GazzaS Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Face painting in 1/48. Not perfectly happy with the skin tones... hopefully they look better with darker uniforms. But not gonna redo. Oils over acrylic base. 5
harv Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 To be honest Gaz, I don't see anything wrong with them. Maybe a bit to much rose cheeks....harv 3 1
Martinnfb Posted December 27, 2021 Author Posted December 27, 2021 Face painting in 1/48 is challenging, looking good so far Garry, however I would ease up on the eyes a little , maybe a different shade. But again, its always easy to be the armchair general. Cant wait to see the final result. 2 1
DocRob Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 I like them a lot, man, it's 48 scale and macroed in. They will look perfect and I think a little emphasis on the cheeks is a good thing to do in this scale, because it renders the faces a bit more 3D. Cheers Rob 3 1

Carl Nice going and a great save. Thanks for pointing out not to use X20A over yogic paints - knowing me, I would have figured it out after the fact. Keep ‘em comin Peter 1 1

Peterpools Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Gaz nice start on the 48th scale figures ... the smaller they are, I guess the harder it becomes to do the faces and facial features. For my eyes, they are looking good. Keep ‘em comin Peter 4
BlrwestSiR Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Got the first two sets of tracks done for my T-28. I'm using Rye Field's indie link sets for these. I have two more lengths to go to finish them. Carl 6
AlanG Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Finally got a weekend off from the farm so i've made a start on my diorama small trees before i hit the 'fall down juice' later on. If i'm not too hungover i might start on the big tree as well this weekend. But i doubt that very much 6
BlrwestSiR Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Back to something sci-fi, and a fairly rare kit too. I started it a few years ago but barely got anywhere as the instructions are completely in Japanese. The kit is made from POM, which I understand is similar to Delrin so I had issues getting paint to stick to it. 4
GazzaS Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 1/48 scale painter's toolbox. 4mm X 9mm. Not totally happy with the sponge chipping... but oh well. 6 1
GazzaS Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Colors begin to unfold. Beware... there is some blur. Lotsa detail painting to do, yet. 8 1

Yeah, the sponge chipping sucks and you forgot to add holes for the nails as well . Earnestly, painter, spectators and paint box are looking great. Happy new year my friend. Cheers Rob 4 1

Martinnfb Posted January 2, 2022 Author Posted January 2, 2022 This is pretty sick little dio, love the composition, it brings everything to life. To build a realistic looking aeroplane is relatively simple task, to detail paint a realistic figure is a completely different ballgame. Looking great Gaz 2 1

These bots are so cool , but also so pricey, I always wanted to build one , yet the price tag was a huge deterrent, maybe one day. 1 1

Martin, I bought this years ago from HLJ for around $200. If I hadn't started it back then, it would be worth over $1000 these days. Speaking of which, I've been getting the kit assembled between watching the boys. 6
