Mine.

Spitfire Mk.I.

Lockheed P-38.

Nakajima J1N1 Gekko.

Douglas Skyraider.

Republic P-47 Thunderbolt.

Dale, I’ll echo your list but chand the Skyraider to an Aichi Seiran.

I love the Skyraider, but we already have a superlative offering from ZM.

And as it just me, or does Tamiya’s 48 Skyraider seem to build up with a flat wing?

The new SWS 15 & 16 are re-boxings of the original kits ... BUT with the previously separately sold weapons sets added (choose your load out WoW style!!) ... apparently at the same price as the older kits ... we don't have them here yet but I'm sure they'll be along soon with the Hs.129.

Rog :)

P.S ... You really do come up with some interesting "Top 5" discussions ... I enjoy 'em bro ... keep them coming!!

Other than the two recent popular kits, the P-38 and F-14, I have zero knowledge of any of Tamiya's 1/48th scale kits...

Me either!! ... well ... close to.

____________

So I had to research their online catalogue!!

1. Spitfire Mk.I

2. Spitfire Mk.Vb

3. Bf.109G-6

4. P.47-D

5. Beaufighter Mk.X

The Beau with the Tamiya treatment would be a real treat.

And JohnB might give us more Beaus than were built by Bristol's in the first place.

I could swear, at one point, he had a production line for Corsairs resembling some of the old WWII photos!!

Agree with Rog bar one, I’d swap out a Spitfire for a Hurricane........

I WAS originally thinking of putting in a Post Script for "Honourable Mentions" and a Hurricane Mk.I / Mk.II was top of that list.

The only reason I didn't include at least one is that we have a half decently priced, accurate and detailed one in the Fly kits - I'd still buy one though!

Rog :)

I never realised just how few 1/32 scale aircraft Tamiya has compared to their 1/48 scale collection
But mu choice would include these:
MiG-15 bis
Gloster Meteor F.1 & F.3
V-1 (Fieseler Fi103)
Fairey Swordfish Mk.I & Mk.2 Floatplane
Heinkel He162 A-2 "Salamander"
Mitsubishi G4M1 Yamamoto Transport (w/17 Figures)
Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu Type 11

Trumpeter have already upscaled the Tamiya Swordfish, and it is one of their « A-team+Tier-1 » kits ...
