Nice freehand paint job. Looks great.

Those photos tell you all you need to know about the power of those engines. I've seen drinking straws bigger than those fuel lines!

Good luck with this Danny, I'm sure you will do it justice. Looks like a rigging nightmare to me but that's just my phobia!

Thanks for the link Danny. Those look excellent value.

Hi Danny Just wondered how you found the Ammo bases? They look nice and anything else I've used from them has been excellent, so just wondered if these are the same. Also intrigued as to what you're going to use them for?

Ha, I remember having an 'unbreakable' melamine plate when I was in the Scouts. It smashed wonderfully into a million bits when dropped on some rocks. Looking forward to seeing how you plan to display this.

Profimodeller Fi103 V1GusMac replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress Nice, didn't know they used covers like that for transport. Looks like you used an old lipgloss or similar?

Profimodeller Fi103 V1GusMac replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress Good point! Still remember trying to explain to my kids what we were smelling when we went passed the coffee shop just down from the apartment we rented on the Herengracht a few years ago. Went by train to the beach at Scheveningen one day as well and got back late, it was fun trying to explain why so many people had the same red curtains and light bulbs as well!

Hasegawa P-40E bringing back that mojo!GusMac replied to Wingco57's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress Very nice finish. Didn't realise the flag was used as insignia at that point. Only really been aware of the roundel type Dutch markings which I assume must be from later time scales?

Profimodeller Fi103 V1GusMac replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress Hi Jeroen, do the birds in your part of Amsterdam walk everywhere, or does your 'thing' for detatched wings not extend to them?

Great result on the tyre. Unfortunate about the first version but at least you manage to salvage it.

Hasegawa P-40E bringing back that mojo!GusMac replied to Wingco57's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress Lovely, but I think the panel lines are a bit heavy on the cat's forehead.

Thanks, the Vallejo Metal acrylics are easy to use and give a nice result.

These and the gearbox look great under a coat of primer. Amazing tutorial to watch this.

PFALZ D.III(A) - 1/32 by Wingnut WingsGusMac replied to elmarriachi's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress Looks great. I take my hat off to anyone who can rig these things well. My only attempt ended up in the trash.

Thanks for the info on the rivets Rich. The results look impressive. Very interesting to see your thoughts on the card thickness as well. Just away to start a build with some scratch building in Evergreen sheet which will be new to me, so the lamination of thin card is another option to ponder.

This is great stuff. What's your method for cutting the heads off the pins without stuff flying everywhere?

Trumpeter 1/32 Mig29KGusMac replied to BevanBrooks's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection Lovely result. The discoloration on the rear upper fuse over the engines is superb. Looking forward to seeing the new 29A kit soon.

Great photos Danny. Really not sure what that little blue teddy is dreaming about though!?
-
Actually only used the black. It worked well under the ghost grey for my F-15 but less well under the camouflage colours for the Mig-23. Think the secret is that you really have to thin the paints to about 60:40 thinner to paint.
