Ah, I love a bit of Spike Milligan. My Dad was a huge Goons fan so I was indoctrinated early but as a kid in the 70s and early 80s I remember his TV shows such as Q8 which were just unlike anything else around bar maybe Kenny Everett. Each half hour show would be 10 minutes of dross, 10 minutes of funny stuff and then 10 minutes of absolute genius. You just had to tolerate the rubbish to get to the good bits - bit like Monty Python as well. His books are great as well - I can heartily recommend Puckoon if you like something distracting about the absurdities of life. I can't remember which of his military books it's in, but I always remember the story of his regiment's first casualties when they used petrol on the latrine pit as they'd run out of disinfectant!

Hi Iain Never built one but a friend of mine has built a few of their Cold War vehicles and his impression is very good. They're not cheap but the quality seems to reflect the price. There was also a recent build on another forum (not that one!) which looks good - http://www.spamodeler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4547

That roughly 1% cut is a lot less than the standard 5% which used to be charged. Also, Paypal, all the card companies and Gift Aid have all taken larger chunks than this, so although it ain't right they are certainly not the worst offenders.

Nice choice Tom. Those are the ones I remember seeing occasionally around here when they were still based at Lossiemouth.

That's a pretty scary statistic! Must be nice to take off knowing even if you make the raid safely that's what awaits you.

That looks like a safe place to put the fuel??

Dale, if that's the Ammo ones from Mig Jiminez then they work well with the Levelling Thinner. If it's the Mig Productions ones then I can't help as I've never tried them. -

I'm like Ernie and tend to use Levelling Thinner all the time but you're right Rob, it doesn't like certain paints. In my experience it's a big no with Revell or Vallejo (although I've never found anything that makes Vallejo spray nicely) and it works beautifully with most Tamiya but it doesn't like some of the pigment heavy metallics. Titanium Gold is a good example which just clogged the airbrush totally. A bit of testing and trial and error seems to be the best approach. -
This is a great little kit. I got one to go on the back of the M911 CHET I'm building and I've been fiddling about with it over the last week or so.

Sorry if Urdu was the wrong choice Maru, I took a punt. Also, I know a little Urdu but no Arabic, so it was a no brainer from that point of view. However, I now have two PhD students I'm supervising, one of whom is Kuwaiti and the other is Saudi, so I may pick up some Arabic! Good luck anyway. I always think Ramadan must be a pain here with the longer daylight hours in the summer.

Best of luck Maru, especially in the current circumstances. Achi taqdeer!

There's still a lot of truth in the old saying that 'you get what you pay for'. I'd always be prepared to pay a bit more to support craftsmen and local businesses than pour more cash into the conglomerates. Especially at the moment, we're getting virtually all our food from local farm shops rather than go to the big supermarkets. One of the few advantages about living in a rural area.

I'm not so sure that this is all down to COVID. My suspicion is that the kicking he was getting in the NZ media may have been a bigger influence and the virus just put the lid on it. Whatever the cause the outcome is painful for the staff involved who're redundant through absolutely no fault of their own. They've striven and succeeded in making just about the best product out there and I'm sure weren't party to the decision to sub-contract out the profit! As usual those at the bottom suffer and those at the top walk away relatively intact.

Saw this on TOS and the He 177 was getting a lot of love?!? Too big, fugly and hardly functional but other than that..... I'd love a Do17 and as Dean says it would go so well with the Revell pair.
