Gotta agree. Such a cool looking beast and the big Shillelagh launcher on the front. Remember war gaming with these as a kid back in the early 80s and they were totally hit and miss - 50% chance of a hit but if you got one it blew anything apart!

Although we get the NFL and a fair bit of college football over here in the UK there's no coverage of games like this. The inter-services rugby games over here can be brutal, just punch-ups from start to finish. Is the Army-Navy game the same or are the referees pretty strict on foul play? The professional game seems very strict on dirty stuff.

Ah well, at least I'm not the only one who's found this out the hard way. It's funny as the Mr Levelling works quite well with Ammo paints and superficially they seem quite a similar formulation to the Vallejo ones. Must be some differences though.

Saves on dog food as well! I expect they take a fair bit of chow. Our two Jack Russell's eat enough and they are barely bigger than what that poops!

I've only tried it with Vallejo once Phil and it didn't go well. The paint just turned to sludge in the airbrush cup and was followed by an hour long cursing session as I dismantled and cleaned the airbrush. However it may have just been bad luck as I've had the same thing happen with Tamiya, although only with Titanium Gold which seems to have a very high pigment concentration.

Thanks Ernie. It is a fun build despite the little frustrations. It's surprisingly substantial in this scale so it'll hopefully end up being an impressive centrepiece in the cabinet.

I'd second the Videoaviation recommendation. Excellent products and great personal service.

Bit more work completed on the Airfix Typhoon, so basically ready for primer. First Airfix kit I've built in 30 years and I've mixed feelings. The surface detail is nice but the fit is very average if you want to close everything up. Lots of filler and Evergreen card required to sort things out. People give Trumpeter pelters for their shape issues, etc but, at least in my experience, they build kits that go together well. The plastic is also very soft and soapy which makes rescribing details a bit haphazard. Anyway, we'll see how it looks after primer.

I know where you're coming from Hubert. My son uses Blender all the time and it just seems totally counter intuitive to me but he does produce some stunning stuff with it.

Had heard this was a possibility. Remember seeing them at local airshows as a kid. As Hubert says it's another of the great British 'fuglies'. Could only be loved by their mothers but it was pretty damn efficient at what it did.

Looks good to my eye Rob. Red paints often fade to that slightly pinkish shade that you seem to have there, so I think it looks great for that 'slightly used' look you're after.

Looks great Phil. Those switches down between the rudder pedals must have been a pain in the ass to reach! Hopefully they weren't something that needed touched during a flight.
