The triangles had to be reworked a little bit more since I made a mistake:

The triangle is a complete one. I cut of the edge near the fuselage which is wrong:

This is the original plane

and this was my mistake!

To correct it I had to prime the black portions with white (yellow will never cover the black!) and then I did the touch-ups and painted the missing corner:

Now it’s ok and I can go on with the top side.

Really nice masking work Kai. Glad there wasn't too much touching up to do.

Nice thinking with the circular masks to ensure a uniform background under the decals. :thumbsup2:

Thanks Gus. As you can see above I had to correct a little more.
Should have looked at the pictures with more care…

Tonight I managed to airbrush the light sand color on the upper fuselage and wings.

I decided not to do a patchy paintjob, because on the real plane the camo isn’t patchy:

I also detected a scratch on the left intake which I have to rework:

Next color to follow will be the green.

Wow Kai, as Peter said, nice smooth finish on the sand color, and you are right, the exhaust now really stands out with the sand color on, how thin did you make your paint?. I'm curious about the next phase with the green, good work so far, the extra mile you took in preparing the Mirage now pays of,

The light tan looks smooth as silk and I’m glad you decided to do the finish mostly clean as the photos. Any update on the the “scratch”?
Keep ‘em comin

Peter

Thank you Peter, reworked it already and have to prime and paint it again:

Thanks you Frank. I always thin the paint 50:50. This gives some scope for playing with the airbrush.
As you see above I still find some faults to correct. Sloppy work at control after priming…;)
