Peterpools Posted August 20, 2021 Share Posted August 20, 2021 I live on Long Island, New York and Hurricane Henri storm track has been slowly moving to the west and that unfortunately means Henri is targeting the middle of the island. Hopefully the track might change again to the east but the forecast doesn't look good. The hurricane should hit us sometime late tomorrow, shore and beach areas have received evacuation notices. Hoping the storm moves to the east, put it out over the ocean when it passes us and maybe not too serve in New England which is just north of us. Henri was first downgraded to a bad tropical storm around 2AM and then the storm track changed to NNE and out of Block Island and then into Rhode Island. Still some heavy rain in areas and some winds but nothing as predicted. Of course our luck was someones else's misfortune. We had areas here on the island that received 6.5 inches of rain today and thank goodness, no loss of life. Some late day thunderstorms and tonight we should be clearing.
