Italeri 1/35 Vosper MTB

Recommended Posts

More PE work done. I added handles to some of the cabinets I made earlier.

I then started attaching these to the other cabin side.

More details to the starboard side as well.

The side panels are actually starting to get heavy.

Lastly, a shot of both panels

Hands like a surgeon .........................

Maybe one with Parkinson's. Lol. A high school friend who is an amazing artist couldn't believe how much my hands twitch while I paint. Oddly they're not as bad nowadays.

That makes me think of Gene Wilder's gunfighter 'The Waco Kid' in Blazing Saddles.

He'd be cancelled in a minute nowadays ole Mel Brooks but his stuff still makes me laugh so hard.

That was a great film.

Definitely wouldn't get made these days.

That doesn't sound very good. Have you checked out what the shaking is?

Coming from an old geezer these days, I try to stay on top of things.

Peter, it's primarily fatigue. To be honest, I haven't really noticed it in recent years, more the cramping and stiffness. That's due to my hand getting crushed a couple times. Once in an elevator door and the other time in a steam press at work (Thankfully I didn't hit the steam pedal or I'd have added burns to the crushing injury). Docs warned me that I'd pay for all this as I got older. Guess they were right sadly.

Oh and my pinky won't straighten. Lol.

Peter,

I do keep an eye on it. So far, it's been fairly stable over the last few years. I did see a hand specialist a few years ago. They were more concerned about my baby finger and got that as straight as they could.

Thanks for your concern. It's good to have us looking out for each other.

Damn, Carl.  So sorry to hear about your hand.  I hope the shaking gets better.  Have you had your ticker checked?  My hands get shaky when I get palpitations.  My palpitations are hereditary, even though my father didn't realize he had them until after both my half brother and I found out we had them.

Sorry to hear about your hand issues Carl, accidents and other maltreatments sum up with the years as well as different inner problems, like blood pressure , carpal tunnel syndrom or just artritis add to that. Is it advisable with your symptoms to train the hand with rubber balls or other power enforcing.
My hands are relatively stable, not that it shows on my skills like figure painting :D, but I tend to cramp up after a while of micro work and loosening and strenghtening helps a lot.

Cheers Rob

Gary, I see a cardiologist once a year and my family doc twice a year after my triple bypass 3 years ago. It's not heart related fortunately as I have enough to worry about there.

There's a history of heart disease in my family and unfortunately Sue's as well so our sons' pediatrician has started monitoring our boys already. Which is a good thing in a way.

Thanks Rob. The biggest issue for me with my hands is the cramping.  Usually lots of flexing helps as does taking a break.  I've pretty much learned to compensate for the odd shakes by bracing my hand when I work. I don't do much brush painting for the same reason. Easier for me to mask and airbrush everything.

  • 2 weeks later...

I haven't had as much time at the bench over the last couple weeks as I thought. When I have been there, I've had a bad case of the squirrels and worked on other stuff. Like a Su-122-54 and then a Jota SVR...

So I finally did something ,even if it was a little bit on the Vosper.

I got the rear cabin wall mostly done so sprayed a coat of primer on it to see how things look.

I'll add a coat of white to the primer to make it opaque and then add some wiring to it. I'll still trying to figure out the best approach to the windows and how to paint things.
