ScottsGT Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Wow. Seems that the 1/16 thing is taking over armor. 2
Bomber_County Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Very nice but I’ll stay with 35th. 16th probably needs a lot of real estate when complete. Also I’m still disappointed (albeit haven’t seen one in person) concerning the detail or lack of the amount of detail which I would thought would be synonymous with basically doubling the size. Hubert please correct my maths to seven decimal places………. 1

Hubert please correct my maths to seven decimal places………. Yeah I get it, 1/16th isn't for everyone. For me as I get older and my eyesight gets worse, I have been moving up in scale. 1/48 to 1/32 to 1/24 now to 1/16, boy if my eyes get any worse I'll be working on 1 to1, gheesh! As for detail, my Trumpeter Panzer IV Ausf H is very detailed, as far as I'm concerned. The 1/16 Tiger VI Ausf E is very detailed. Yeah the tool clamps don't open/close, but you can make them work, very difficult if not impossible in 1/35. They do take up alot of space in a cabinet or shelf, therefore why I said there not for everyone. Ron G 1

A 1/16 kit uses 10.4675293 times more volume (and 4.78515625 times more shelf area) than the 1/35 equivalent 😉 HTH Hubert 2 5
belugawhaleman Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Looks like a great subject. I like the big scale kits....I had a look at the big Trumpy SU-100 in my stash...may build it soon. 2
mark31 Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 yes i have seen it to over here on pre order for 100 euro maybe going to get one. Mark 1

Artful69 Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Noice!!!! … We could do with a whole lot more panzer crew members in various poses!! Rog 1
BlrwestSiR Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Having just picked up the recent Andy's Tiger, I'd love a Firefly in 1/16 but that's about it. Maybe the Das Werk Stug III but they're almost double in price now for some reason. 1
CrankyCrafstman Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 Hey Carl Heller makes a stug iii with shurzen in 1/16 scale. It's pretty close to the Das Werks in detail. Ron G 2

CrankyCrafstman Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 Hey all Andy just released a video on this about 2 hours ago. This thing looks amazing from what you can see. It has a lot of details and working items. Ron G 1
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted June 11, 2023 Administrators Posted June 11, 2023 Now we need a 1/16 Me.323 for that. 1 3

belugawhaleman Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I'm probably the only person to want this, but I'd like to see a large 1/16 Matilda or even cooler....a 1/16 Churchill tank. Or.....a 1/16 universal carrier! British subjects in 1/16 are, I think, underrepresented. 2
BlrwestSiR Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 A 1/16 Universal carrier would still be small. A Churchill would be cool, especially an AVRE one. I would love a Firefly 1C with the hybrid hull myself in 1/16. 3

Takom has a habit of producing small tanks and other vehicles in 1/16. Such as the Type 94, ontos, jeep, west German wiesel etc....so, I think it's a possibility.... Would be cool anyway. Riich Models has a nice Universal in 1/35 ....I've taken an interest in getting that one.....but in 1/16 much better! 2
