Like seriously , thanks for stopping by buddy 10 hours ago, Wingco57 said: Tubeway Army? I like the way you want to represent the cannon tubes. I did it the easy way and drilled them out and capping the inside with tubing slit horizontally to avoid the see through look. Great work. Cees Thank You Cees. I did that as well, changed the shape etc. but they're in off-set configuration, no way it can be done without a complete redesign . 1 hour ago, chek said: Having done similar with a Hunter, one small tip I can offer is to ensure the nose contours remain well defined. I used auminiumi tubing on mine, and was pleased at getting not only perfectly shaped gun troughs, but a nice flange effect from the tube's thickness itself. Unfortunately, while the troughs looked great, I'd abraded and polished away too much nose which gave the poor old normally pugnacious looking Hunter's nose a decidedly skinny, receeding chinned look. For the next one, I scribed lines at the trough edges, and superglued in some phone wire with the chrome burned off and drawn through a pad of wire wool, so it was flush where the surface needed to be. Once you're sanding and the bright copper makes an appearance through the filler, you know to hang back on further heavy sanding and keep the nose shape true. That;s funny, because last night I grabbed a bunch of aluminium tubing and went to garage to cut and shape them . The problem was the thermal distortions of the aluminium itself . So I opted for plastic tubes glued to place and supported by resin putty that is strong enough to retain the strength of the fuselage and soft enough to sand and scribe into. Preliminary sanding , material is not cured yet. I would say another 24 hours until the plastic sets in.now I have a great starting point 9

Wet sanding helps a lot in reducing heat build up when sanding the ali tube. If you have a size handy which will slide into your plastic tubes, a light greasing with vaseline or similar would allow you to build up the rear edge of your cannon troughs with some superglue and plastic power from all the sanding, and then sand it back to a curved edge as seen below. 4
Martinnfb Posted March 12, 2019 Author Posted March 12, 2019 Guys I need your help. I decided to use hub from Tamiya Mosquito. It is a spare part J29? that looks similar to hub from Beaufighter. Well I was filling the gaps with superglue and one wheel was over filled If there is anybody who is willing to help me and pass me your spare Tamiya hub, please let me know. 5
BlrwestSiR Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I'll get one out to you tomorrow Martin. Carl 6
GazzaS Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Those blast tubes are among the best I've ever seen. Well done! 4
Peterpools Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Martin Awesome work .. looking so good. Glad to see Carl was able to come to the rescue! What's it all about!!!! Keep 'em comin Peter 4
Martinnfb Posted March 25, 2019 Author Posted March 25, 2019 Thank you for your continuous support guys. After a small break from models, I had a chance to clean up the nose section and to start some preliminary work on the wheel bays. The width is slightly narrower than the real thing so I could anchor the legs into it's original location holes. 6
DocRob Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Didn't know they had barcodes applied , looking good, your build is a clinic. Cheers Rob 4
Guest DannyVM Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Love your progress Martinn. A Beaufighter is also one of my favourite W.W.2 planes, still i just can't get myself up to buy a Revell example.

Thank you Danny, I like this build , makes me feel young again LOL 5 hours ago, GazzaS said: Good to see progress, Martin! Thank You Gaz, slowly but surely. Some more work on the gear bay structure, it takes lots of research, since I can't trust drawings. The base material is coming from mk.X , close enough. As I said before, I am not going to chase crazy detail as long as it looks like Beaufighter. 4
Martinnfb Posted March 26, 2019 Author Posted March 26, 2019 Some more work, the inner well is almost done. Still needs bunch filling and sanding, brake lines, pressure cylinders , only the visible detail. I painted in order to see the uglies From the pictures above is visible how sharp edged is the nacelle profile. The kit's one is too rounded. Not a biggie, although I will direct same attention towards the fuel dumps that are heavily undersized. 4
Wingco57 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I have news for you. It certainly is beginning to look like a very nice Beau. Cees 4

Old age is creeping on me, eyesight gone, shaky hands, fat gut etc. I sneakily scribed the outer wings, just to see if I can do it , and it was ok. Martin, I was getting ready to start scribing panel lines and riveting, where did you find the panel line and rivet diagrams you have here? 3

It is from this book . But frankly , there are so many mistakes that has been carried over from previously published materials that I making my own , based on photographs. Let me know when you start your build and I will send some fun stuff your way 6 hours ago, Mikester said: Some really impressive work on this one, Martin! Thank You Mike, the hardest part is to find decent photographs. On 3/26/2019 at 5:56 AM, BlrwestSiR said: Huge improvement Martin! Carl Thank You Carl, I am in the limbo, trying to decide wether to go all out stick with the original plan and keep it easy. Hard call, since the more I study the more I see how off is this kit. 3
Martinnfb Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 Last night I had a bit of time to play with this kit, so I cut out the opening for the ladder and reworked this area a bit. This morning I was able to snug in the guns. There is only one picture that shows this detail and it seems that they are slightly protruding from the blast tubes. If not? ,,,, well, we won't tell anyone 6
Martinnfb Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 Big squishy thanks to Carl for saving my bacon and sending me the Mosquito rim again. White glue was used as a gap filler. Great capillary action and long drying time makes it ideal in situations like this. 3
