Nice saves on the cable cutters Ern.  I didn't know the Lanc had them.  As for that great big square hole in the leading edge...  If we're looking inboard of the inboard engines, I've seen a drawing that shows an L-shaped trunk taking air directly to the fuselage.

Gaz

Certainly could be it, yes. But they’re not present on FM104. Hmmmm

But THIS ship has a different style of inboard wing air intakes.

Thanks Maru, it’s good to be building one of my favorite aircraft.  :)

It takes awhile on my builds because we sit around and talk about the weather here...

Oh well, I build off what I see in reference pics, and this is my only picture showing the inboard leading edge, and they are clean on FM104 here.

Another thing, FM104 had, at one point near the end of her operational life, a much more painted over greenhouse, and a lightning stripe that extended much farther forward.

I chose to build the version depicted in THIS photo, simply because I like the look better than the fully painted canopy greenhouse. :)

Not the greatest pic and one that has been around for ever, BUT as the prop blade is in the way of the coolest bird, have a good long look at the second one in the line as mentioned earlier it is most definitely duct work into the fuselage.....and I think it is cabin air if I remember correctly.................. maybe this cutaway will help

Don’t overthink it Ern, you’ll drive yourself insane! Could well have been routed through the side fuselage air scoop if there wasn’t evidence of another inlet

To quote The Eagles, it’s “Aaaaaalready Gone!”

Should be pretty straight forward now Ern . . .:D

Do you have etch guards for the engine  intakes ??

David

FM104 often flew with open intakes so I went and opened them up.

There’s pictures both ways, but If I can find PE screens I’ll use them, otherwise I’ll leave them open.

Either way, doing the work to open them is worth it. The kit parts are solid and not much more than a blob of plastic.

Update: Ordered the Eduard set 'Just in Case'

I took a look at the photos I took of VR-A back in April and found this:

This is the starboard wing. The corresponding pic for the port wing doesn't have the duct.

Sorry I didn't check these earlier.

This one ....
