Schwere Panzer Abteilung 503 and others... virtually wiped out. Richard von Rosen was a platoon commander in SPzAbt 503. in his book he related that many of the units Tigers got flipped or obliterated. Those that survived were rendered ineffective because the shock had knocked the optics out of alignment with the barrels.

All the PE fenders and tie downs to do. Not sure sure how much damage to add to the fenders and exhaust shrouds.......

I've got the Leo Marriott and Simon Forty book 'Normandy Battlefields: Bocage & Breakout' and it has some great pictures of the effect of this on the Panzer Lehr as the prelude to Operation Cobra west of St Lo. For a unit that only really came into being in early 1944 it was effectively wiped out at least twice before the end of that year!
Bomber_County
Quick update, never done so much PE in my life. Quite enjoyable once you slow down and concentrate. The Eduard PE is stunning and brings the Tiger to life IMHO......Anyway some pics ......... Unfortunately that’s my bench time for the week.....
Martinnfb
Really nice work. That addition of metal brings everything alive . Cheers M.
Bomber_County
Thanks Martin, always thought to myself PE was beyond me and now I actually enjoy it. The GB had been good for me as well as LSM and you guys.......
GazzaS
That looks great! I've really got to get PE fenders and other soft metal parts for tanks. Plastic just don't bend right.
Bomber_County
Thanks Gaz, still got the side fenders to add but completely agree with you. In hindsight wished I had fabricated the rear box out of sheet brass ..........
DocRob
Metal on a heavy metal subject, what could fit better , seriously, your beefed up Tiger is looking good and I can understand how you enjoy adding the PE. Mostly I love working with PE too, but sometimes it can be a pain, when t gets really complicated specially with gluing points as big as a hairs diameter. For fenders and sheet parts like the exhaust covers there is no better material. Cheers Rob
Bomber_County
Thanks Rob much appreciated, I’m really enjoying this GB, my first admittedly. It’s driving me to try new techniques......
