BlrwestSiR Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Ok, I couldn't wait for the D-Day GB to start and got a bit ahead of myself. This is the Miniart Dingo scout car. I tried to build one a few years ago and have up after seeing the number of parts involved in the suspension. That first try got binned but I still had a second one in the stash. So I figured I'd try again. 3
BlrwestSiR Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Here's the cab under assembly. There's a crazy number of parts in here. The driver's seat is 7 parts alone. Being an open topped vehicle, most of it will be visible. Next up was the suspension and drivetrain. Again, a silly number of parts. This is where I gave up on my first try. This time I pulled it off I think. 3
BlrwestSiR Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 The Miniart instructions don't have any colour recommendations for the interior so I used ones from the Tamiya 1/48 kit. Basically everything is green with leather seats . I used Ammo acrylic SCC1A for the interior followed by a dry brushing with Tamiya weathering pastels. All closed up. With that done, I attached it to the chassis. And that's it for the moment. I'm enjoying the build much more this time around. Carl 7
Martinnfb Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Nice start on this weird looking rover Carl. Lots of detail for such small kit. 5
BlrwestSiR Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Thanks Martin! There's a silly amount of detail crammed into the kit. And there isn't even an engine. 5
Martinnfb Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 That should be the title of this topic... the dingo took my baby... ...or a bad dingo 5
Martinnfb Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 or , what if the dingo was just a scapegoat, then it should be"the goat took my baby" back to the dingo 5
Jeff Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 You guys crack me up................. looking god Carl, I think the Mini Art kits are cool, and yeah they have a huge amount of parts, and some of it very nicely detailed too,................... IMHO 4

IMHO Thanks Jeff! There's definitely a lot of parts in the box for something so small. But so far it's all fit fit together so I can't really complain. 4
GusMac Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 That driving seat sits at an interesting angle! Presumably the driver had a permanent crick in their neck. 5

Maybe that's where Lamborghini got the idea to offset the pedals in the Countach. 3
BlrwestSiR Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 Ok, the fenders are now on. I then added the lights and started on the armoured viewports. 7
BlrwestSiR Posted June 2, 2019 Author Posted June 2, 2019 Wheels are painted and attached. Followed by the remaining visors. And the roof hatch. I used some decals from Bison for the markings. They're supposed to be a 1st Armoured division (?, will have to double check). Next up will be a clear coat and some weathering and she'll be done. 6
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted June 2, 2019 Administrators Posted June 2, 2019 Carl, this is coming along quite swimmingly. Talk about a quick, easy build. 4

Not as much as I would have hoped but better than my first try. Which ended up in a parts bin at the LHS On 6/2/2019 at 6:35 AM, Jackster said: Superb Carl Cheers Kev Thanks Kev! 3

BlrwestSiR Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 And here we go, the clear went on followed by a light mist of Tamiya Earth around the lower edges and a bit of dry brushing elsewhere. I'll try get some RFI shots shortly. 5
DocRob Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Your Dingo looks great with this weathering. Cheers Rob 3
