As you all know I love the Corsair and, as far as I'm concerned, the Tamiya kits are the best and a joy to build. I decided to build this one as one flown by Marion Carl. Paints used were Colourcoats, Model Master and Xtracolor. After market items are Barracudacast wheels and cockpit detail decals. The seat belts are by FineMolds. I haven't added the stretched sprue antennas yet as I'm sure they would get broken while taking photos. I hope you like the results of my efforts! :)

She makes a very nice addition to your collection of Corsairs John. I need to do another one at some point. I'm only at two so far.

Another fine Corsair! I know you are going to build another, so, How about a NAS Reserve Corsair next?

Thanks! That is a good looking -4 and would make a great looking model if Tamiya will ever release that version. It would be possible to build a reserve -1D in a similar scheme as I have seen photos of those. Something to think about! :)

That guy got a little sideways and had a genuine off roading experience.

John, this model is truly gorgeous, as usual, and of course, it'll make a fine addition to the FB page, right?

I give you credit though. I haven't even managed to get through my first Birdcage. It's such a beautiful kit, an so bloody precise, I missed carving and shaping so much I threw it all on the SOD.

Let me post it under the LSM name. I'll brag you up a bit more than might seem right doing it yourself. :)

Well done, John!  I think it's about time you built a 1/32 scale aircraft carrier for all of these corsairs.
