  1. Hola Senhores, not a good sign for an own WIP to have to use the search function to find it . I needed some time to swear in German, English and Spanish and rant away about the time I wasted with the Komet. After all that time of contemplation, I decided to try to assemble the main components of the 163. With a considerable amount of raw force, I tried to align everything as good as possible. The pictures shows, where that got me after some coarse grinding and destroying lots of surface detail. I'm still not sure if I will continue as there will be a lot of filling, sanding and rescribing needed with a still suboptimal outcome, but I didn't want to give up easily either. Decision time Cheers Rob
  2. C'mon, it's not that bad, in fact I like the result and it inspired me to finally get me a Mig-31. Your Mig is looking badass as it should. On the other hand I can totally understand the way you feel, aren't we always our hardest critiques ourselves. Some builds are just not like we had hoped for, but mostly it is more like a bad taste in the end than facts, it's bad mojo. Others will see that with different angles of view and are not mojo effected. Your Bat cries for prey and that's the way it should be. Cheers Rob
  3. Welcome to the world of the Large Scale Crazies, sieben. Your P-51 looks gorgeous. I like the NMF and detailing in the pit and wheel wells. Cheers Rob
  4. Teaser for the future Tamiya presentation Cheers Rob
  5. Nice work, that's quite a lot of internal rigging to be made as a contrary to the wing rigging.
  6. While having a taste for strange subjects; I already had an eye on this one. I love the concept, but I'm not sure if such a thing would have be able to fly , specially horizontally. This proved merely impossible till the development of the Osprey with heavy support by advanced IT-stuff. Being free with the Colour selection, I would opt for that seemingly pre war splinter. Great review James albeit the pit looks a little sparse to me, but that should be a minor problem BTW: Love your Avatar. Having seen the Upsetter numerous times in concerts, the last time three years ago in Berlin. It was a great gig and the old man blew the other acts like Patrice simply away with pure magic dub-force. Cheers Rob
  7. Well spoken and a heavy dose of positive load for one bench . Cheers Rob
  8. You got your history lessons wrong, maybe that's why you settle for the Napoleonic era . We Germans love our beer not to chilly but the Wurst (sausage) should be warm, no need for a Wurstkühler though, but for a mustard dispenser . Cheers Rob
  9. Nice job with the furniture Harv, looks good and comfy. Can't wait to see your two seater develop. Mine will stay single seater though. Cheers Rob
  10. Great display and nice paintjob Jeroen. One of the un-boring monochrome kind. I saw a V2 in Huntsville Alabama and am still amazed by yours with the boy in comparison size wise. Cheers Rob
  11. Hehe , the surroundings for his camo have to be made, since there is no snow and ice on my island. His brother though (lying in front) is perfectly suited for the often found heavy fog (called Bruma here) with his coat of light gray. Cheers Rob
  12. Spring is in full bloom and I got new neighbors. Cheers Rob
  13. Simply stunning. The details please the eye everywhere and the whole dio is looking very vivid. Cheers Rob
  14. Nice, I like the dynamic flying pose. Especially Spitfires get robbed of their elegance with wheels down. Cheers Rob
  15. Your Mosquito looks great, I love the engines. Lots of eye catchers on this one. Cheers Rob
  16. Good to see this one done after the windscreen incident. Nice painting and subtle weathering on this one and a great job with the code and decals. Cheers Rob
  17. I'm a bit jealous, I loved to fly to Lisbon, get a car to Ericeira had some Doradas in the Adega Tipico there and a great surf the next day powered by pasteis de nata, surfers Duracell. Cheers Rob
  18. I have a weak spot for er- be…, no amphibious and water planes and have some other pictures to share. This one is from Chino And this was taken in Pensacola
  19. Nice, next question will be for pigments, tons of PE and a resin dust mask . To say with Dr. Frankenstein; 'It's aaaalllliiiivvveeee Cheers Rob
  20. Like I said, it's hard to tell from the pictures, but it seems to me that the contrast between the white fuselage and the blueish fins of the missiles is a little bit to harsh, but I'm maybe wrong about that (photos and Colour rendition, sigh). The picture of the real thing made me believe, that there is a metallic shine on the fins, that's why I mentioned metal pigments to rub in. BTW these missiles look huge, like you could place a cockpit in and man it , almost as long as a cola can, wow, never noticed that before. Cheers Rob
  21. My idea would look a little bit more vivid . Cheers Rob
  22. Looking good Gaz. With some weathering the contrast between the grey fuselage and red decals will be reduced to a scale correct look. It's hard to tell from the pic, but I would apply some steel pigments, maybe even mixed with a tiny little bit of copper pigments onto the wings of the missiles, the contrast looks a bit harsh to m eye . Cheers Rob
  23. Great build and nice paintjob and weathering. The work on the engine and the flaps are doing some magic on your build. Nice . Cheers Rob
  24. Great review and interesting subject. I have something in my mind using a Scammell artillery truck with a civilian circus like paintjob, some evil looking musicians with 15th century costumes and maybe the above mentioned caravan. Sounds weird? I hope so . I have that plan sans the caravan in my mind since a long time. Thanks for pointing me to it. Cheers Rob
  25. Thanx Forum , the last spark needed for getting me this big bad MIG-31 in 1/48 was inspired by Gaz and his great build of a MIG-25. I was thinking about the 31 since some years, 'it's 1/48 (thanks god), thousand stencils, just grey,...', but it's pure badass design and that finally did it to me. It is the limited edition from AMK with die cast wheel struts, clear and tinted canopies and completed PE and decals. I browsed through the kit and I have to say, it's one of the finest kits out of the box. Well packed with thoughtful layout of sprues and decals, seemingly well engineered. This might be a complete OOB build, a first since some Airfix stuff when I was a kid. The only thing I'm not decided about are the wheels, which I may substitute with resin stuff and masks for the canopies. Cheers Rob
