  1. Same on my island, Hubert. The coldest winter, spring and summer in years, but since some weeks it's sunny nearly no wind, perfect weather for swimming, snorkeling, mountainbiking and harvesting figs, which explains my nearly no existant benchtime in the moment. I've ben surfing in Ericeira for some years and liked the place. The Nazare Ondas are not my size, I like it clean and not more than shoulder high for a nice longboard ride. On my Island the conditions for surfing are not great, but it's possible sometimes. The waves are high, but there are dangerous rocks all over and no real reeves. Mostly Bodyboarding is the only thing possible. Last month I have been surfing in Fuerteventura which was great for a change. Let's enjoy the endless summer in south western europe Cheers Rob
  2. Fine pieces of modelling you show here and no reason for hiding them just because it's 1/48. This is a non dogmatic place for plastic addicts and the scale dosen't matter. There is a section for non-LSM-work, so feel welcome to show your work. By the way, welcome to LSM. Cheers Rob
  3. A clear 10 out of 10 on the WOW-scale, a real jawdropper. Magnificient work with scatching, building and painting, Chapeau. Cheers Rob
  4. Stunning work on the interiors, nice attention to Detail. Your work looks so real, that some figures would add to the picture. Cheers Rob
  5. Great review of a evenly great subject, combined with your experience building other versions of the Arado makes this one special. I own the nightfighter version and it is one of my favourite birds. Thanks for planting that brainbug again . Cheers Rob
  6. Nice, everything seems to fit in and the gaps between the fuselage halves don't look to be problematic. When you are not anymore covered with resin dust, you know you are almost there . Cheers Rob
  7. Nice work on the engine, your kind of wiring looks way better than the flat PE-stuff. Are you planning to show that little piece of art? Cheers Rob
  8. What an epic build, Wouter. It was a great pleasure two follow you on this one, with all the effort you put into that bird. The result speaks for itself, brilliant. Cheers Rob
  9. Wow, I raise my hat, this is a scratch building clinic at it's best. Cheers Rob
  10. Nice save with the masks, still a lot of work for only masking the canopy. I always liked the kabuki-paper material more than the vinyl ones, because of the mentioned reasons. Cheers Rob
  11. Nice builds, you will fit the gang , by the way, welcome to LSM and show your B-25. Cheers Rob
  12. My one and only Russian plane turned out Finnish in the end and is far from being LS of M . The 1/72 Mig 15 made by Eduard is a gem and I have another single seater in my stash along with loads of resin and PE. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/5052-mig-15-uti-172-eduard/?tab=comments#comment-64467 Cheers Rob
  13. I love to blacken white metal tracks or brass pe and turned parts as a first step. the colour you achieve looks just about right for me, matte brownish black and you can control the effect with the amount of time you leave the tracks in the bath. Another plus-side is that you don't get a thick coating, so the function of the tracks will stay intact. Three things are really important in the process, The tracks have to be clean, that means fat free and CA free. Move the tracks in the bath, air bubbles will leave their unwanted signature. Use fresh chemicals, because the effect will be less in used up liquid. The chemicals you need can be bought relativey cheap as fluids for burnishing tiffany lamps by the litre. Cheers Rob
  14. Maketar masks are just great. Having them used several times, the only thing I noticed is, that in order to get the contours sharp and bubble free, you have to 'rub' them on and they stick very good. If you haven't properly primed or use fragile colours, I recommend to 'detack' them a little on the back of your hand, except you have hairy Werwolf like paws . Cheers Rob
  15. Planes and beer, what a great combination , will follow your build. Cheers Rob
  16. Great solution, I will never understand the Trumpeter design Team. Many of their kits have engines supplied and there is no simple way of showing them, weird. They must have two different engineer teems who do not go along well, one for the fuselage and one for the engines and the engines team always looses . Nice work on the cockpit. Cheers Rob
  17. Hi Bill, since you started this a while back, nobody can accuse you of following a recent trend here at LSM of multiple kit building . That's a very interesting project with the involvement of a heavy dose of scratching and casting. I will follow closely and by the way, welcome to LSM Cheers Rob
  18. Thanks Mike it's solved for now, the old GB's are accesible again. Cheers Rob
  19. Hi Kent, this is an exceptional piece of art you made. Everything from the figures, the paintjob, the setting even the size of the base is perfect. I guess you should have become a movie director, because your work always looks like a snapshot taken from a movie and that is a very special talent, Chapeau. Cheers Rob
  20. Nice James, your review appeared faster than I could ask for after having seen you showing the workbench in the 'what i just got-thread'. Cheers Rob
  21. Great result, shame, that all the fine work will be partly hidden in the nacelles. Cheers Rob
  22. Hi Mike, sorry no pics or knowledge about the upper wing painting, but remembered I have some pictures made of that plane in Pensacola. I stored them in the walkaround-secton. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/5671-p-40b-tomahawk-nas-pensacola/ Cheers Rob
  23. Hi friends of the P-40, some years ago I visited NAS in Pensacola and took a lot of photos as reference for future projects. Having seen mikesters Thread about that very plane, I decieded to share the pictures. The plane was presented in a very dark spot of the museum, so it was neccesary to use a flash, which I normally try to avoid, because of the colour renditionn. Hope it might help Cheers Rob
  24. Epic, with a little photoshopping you could some of your photos make look like a real construction line in black and white of course. Sometimes I feel the urge of building two planes of the same type, because I want one pure in flight position and one on the ground with all panels open, but SEVEN . At least you need a presentation shelf 'P-40 only' Cheers Rob
  25. Cool, they didn't include the Lights into their T-90 A kit. Installation of all theese ERA-tiles and this and thats on the turret are really time consuming. When I finished the tracks, the lower hull and the metal barrel I thought the rest would be a piece of cake, but nada, feeled million of tiny parts went into the turret. The right 'eye' of your Sensor System seems to bee a litle 'out of focus'. I know from experience, that it is not to easy to align them properly . Cheers Rob
