  1. No power... ugh. The main reason that I will only own a gas stove. At least you can generate some heat ( and make lots of cookies).
  2. I'm an hour east of Buffalo. Welcome to my world! The good news for you is that it shouldn't last long. We'll have it until April.
  3. Thanks, Harv. It's good to be back!
  4. It's been far too long since I updated. I've been fighting a massive headache since October, and I'm finally over the hump. Without further ado... Argus As.II Daimler-Mercedes D.I I'm inclined to use the D.I engine and the orange-ish boxtop scheme. A couple of decals and a wash, and I'll finally be ready to close the fuselage.
  5. I don't fault the sender at all. This was the US Postal Service.
  6. It's my prize from the Christmas raffle - a Revell Ju-88 generously donated by Smitty. Luckily, just a couple of easily repaired cracks in the fuselage!
  7. What are you using as a scribe, Gaz? I got the UMM ones and I love them. I use dymond tape with them.
  8. Oops. The Yamato of which I speak is IJN. I'm not well versed on the Sci-fi stuff!
  9. I've seen a 1/200 Yamato. I'm pretty sure it's an old Nichimo kit, and the box is about 4 feet long (about 1.3 m)
  10. Engine work for me, too. That's a piece of insulation from 30 gauge wire. 0.018 inch diameter, 0.040 inch long. Faux spark plugs. I used Albion Alloys 0.03 diameter tubing for the wire carriers, drilled with a 0.011 bit for the plug wires. Magneto wires are simply stuffed into the end of the tube.
  11. HK Lancaster, 2x Felixstowe, and B24D are close to the same size. But my biggest box is Dragon's 1/72 Saturn V.
  12. Enlighten me, Hubert. Why are many of the 3D printed parts designed at an angle?
  13. I have no experience with PCM kits. Does anyone have any impressions?
  14. Wish I could help, Harv - but mine's built. As I recall, There wasn't much detail in that area; the Hasegawa has a tub that comes right up to the sill.
  15. I read somewhere long ago that it was Mr.Tamiya's need to fit batteries that drove the scale.
  16. I sent my Z-M J7W1 kit landing gear to Damian at S.O.W. to use as masters. A long time later, he sent me a couple of replacement sets. It was worth the wait - his stuff is top notch!
  17. This year was a tough one for completing builds. The local show was cancelled, as was Noreastcon - no last minute all nighters rushing to get something ready for the contest tables. Looking back, most of my modelling efforts this year went into buying kits that I have every intention of building. With the demise of WNW and my current rate of finished builds, I now have enough WWI planes to last me for about 25 years. The one I did manage to finish was the Pfalz D.IIIa
  18. From Facebook: Dear friends, thank you again for your messages and support! Yesterday we completed the reconnaissance of our premises and prepared for today's evacuation of undamaged goods from the warehouse. It still looks like it will be possible to save more than we hoped. The rest remains in the warehouse and will get new boxes in packaging compartment. The evacuated goods will be moved to a nearby hall, where they will wait until new space is available for the temporary location of the sales department. We have several offers, they will be evaluated on Wednesday. I assume that preparations for the move will begin immediately on December 28, and perhaps the move to selected areas will begin in the last week of the year. My plan is to start selling no later than January 15th. The department providing packaging, including stored components, is intact and ready for action. In this part of building we found also moldings for the Tornado, which I originally mistakenly declared destroyed. So there will be a Tornado with pin up posters. The January INFO will be released on Tuesday, January 5. I have to rework the editorial a bit, but I'll make it. Happy Modelling! Vladimir Sulc, CEO, Eduard – Model Accessories
  19. Sorry for those of you not on Facebook; I looked elsewhere, but couldn't find a generic link. I wonder if the Cat operator was making wooshing sounds... https://www.facebook.com/BoneyardSafari/videos/196893818757969
  20. This arrived in the mail today. I might send it back; on the box, the prop is spinning, but the engine is not.
  21. Will you be doing a WIP on this one, Rob? I just ordered that kit!
