  1. That is a brilliant, how to! Thank you very much, it is definitely something i need to get to grips with. The finished look is amazing. Cheers Kev
  2. That pit is a thing of beauty! The grey paintwork is fantastic! Do you have any tips on how you used the 7 shades of grey? I have a couple of builds where I will have to attempt the same thing. Cheers Kev
  3. Kai , I have just read this thread, fantastic modelling and great methods of overcoming the flaws in the kit. I am sure it is going to be a stunner when finished. Keep up the great work. Cheers Kev
  4. Thanks for comments guys. I bought it when it first came out late 90's I think. I was going to get back into modelling then but it was another 15 years or so before that happened. Aye GusMac, it has been interesting reading about the Banf strike wing, I did not know about Black Friday before I started. An ill fated attack on German shipping in Norway, The bravery of these young men never ceases to amaze me. I also have a 1/24 Mossie to do as well so that will be part of the same wing.
  5. Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter TF Mk X 404 Sqn RCAF RAF Dallachy very late 1944. Primer is on. I have removed the battle damage repair plates from on top of the wings, blanked the wing gun ports and landing lights as not used on rocket equipped aircraft. Removed the tailplane linkages which Tamiya wrongly placed on the upper surface when they should be underneath. waiting now for paint for top surfaces, just about to mask for the bottom paint. Really enjoying the build so far. Cheers Kev
  6. Hi Phil, thank you. Yes I very much recommend the Hobbyboss kit. I enjoyed it so much I am seriously looking at the Trumpeter 1/32 boxing which as far as I can gather is basically the same kit but bigger scale and a full engine to display. Flory models do a great build video of that one. It's quite big in 1/48 so will be massive in 1/32. Cheers Kev
  7. Brilliant work Rob, very inspiring, love your ethos too! Cheers Kev
  8. Peter, thanks very much mate. Cheers Kev
  9. Very nice start, the seat belts look fantastic, very nice detailing on the rudder pedals and rest of the pit. Cheers Kev
  10. Excellent diorama mule! I dont think you have anything to worry about, the colours are outstanding, look very natural! Cheers Kev
  11. Wow, took me straight back to a Wilbur Smith novel I read in my youth, Cry Wolf. would be great to see this built! Cheers Kev
  12. Thanks for the comments guys, I have never seen one in real life but would loved to have done so. A lot bigger aircraft than I thought it would be. Cheers Kev
  13. First finish of the year. Hobbyboss 1/48 A6E Intruder. This was my first Hobbyboss kit and have been very impressed with it, decent bit of PE included in the kit and metal undercarriage legs to take the weight. Learnt a lot on this one with airbrushing and using weathering products. Was surprised at how dirty these birds were. Still lots to learn, but very much enjoying the process, which is the main thing I guess :-) Cheers Kev
  14. Cracking job fella, certainly is a big beast when done! Cheers Kev
  15. Superb work Carl, very inspirational. Cheers Kev
  16. Great time ahead, be nice to see your workbench view when sorted. Congratulations. Cheers Kev
  17. One of my favourite aircraft! What a fantastic way to build it! Kudos to your razor saw skills Frank, that was amazing! Cheers Kev
  18. Superb build! Used to love the sound of these on the rare occasions I saw them. Cheers Kev
  19. The plan to sink the Tirpitz using bouncing bombs. Also development of the TseTse which I am considering for my 1/24 Mossie build. Cheers Kev
