  1. Very colourful Kingfisher there Peter. I'm glad you're over the big hurdles and getting to the end of the build. Good luck at the dentist. The boys go tomorrow for their own checkup.
  2. The Otter? I think Mirror Models do them in 1/35. Edit: yup they make an Otter.
  3. Phil, if you need any paint suggestions how about either of these: I'm going cross eyed just looking at the first one.
  4. How much conversion work to make this kit suitable?
  5. I could up for this. I've got a PCM XIX conversion started and plan to do another as an FR XIV. Theres also a Revell MkII with the AIMS conversion for a Merlin PR Spit. Anyone got an Academy F/A-18D for an Atars nose? Kinetic make one in 1/48.
  6. I've been trying to find reference material for my Vosper build but most seem to be OOP or just plain hard to find. Somehow this book popped up and for 1/4 if the price it was at on my Amazon wish list. Now I've got some options for the camo rather than just a plain grey.
  7. I was going to say if you got an RC car, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.
  8. Keep for the rear window area and then lighten the rest a bit?
  9. When Sue and I got married, we had one bottle of red wine for the whole party. It was the same 6 litre size. Our guests couldn't believe they made them that big. We still have the bottle along with some others. I'll grab a pic later. Great idea on the light fixture. Please show us how you do it. Especially when it comes time for the Stearman. Carl
  10. Very sharp looking Kingfisher Bill.
  11. Wow, so all that was done on the road. Truly impressive. I've got your next challenge for you Ernie. Build one on a transatlantic flight with just the fold down table.
  12. Nice subject John. Is it going to be as per the picture or something less weathered? Carl
  13. I'm at the LHS near work. The C368 looks to be more tan like you said. I noticed it has a BSC colour code which is postwar so could be correct. Another option may be C26 Duck Egg?
  14. So use Mr Color Levelling thinner to cut them. Instant lacquer paint! Well, not really but Tamiya acrylic is compatible with the above as well as their own lacquer thinners. It's generally what I use to thin them. I'll check what I have for Sky when I get home that's lacquer based.
  15. I see you're going couch shopping too.
  16. At the end of the summer right before they drain them, Toronto opens its outdoor pools to dogs and it looks like the above. Except maybe fewer umbrellas.
  17. I got the second hinge made so I installed it on the deck. I then added the hatch cover. Success! It even opens which is a bonus.
  18. I was about to post the same link. Maybe something you can use on the second kit you bought?
  19. Fantastic finish and fast too, as promised. Carl
  20. You know, I had to check if JohnB was building this model as you're just storming through the build. Leaving out the non visible stuff always speeds things along too.
  21. I finally found some challenging bits to make on this kit. The deck hatches are a multi layer assembly. There's an outer edge and an inner one to each one. They then all require hinges to be made. Each one is three parts. You have to roll the hinge around a piece of copper wire and then if you've done it right, it'll work. One done, 7 to go. Still can't believe I got it done, it's so tiny. Last bit for now is an overhead thingy and the conduit.
  22. Phil, nice bit of progress. You're right about these torpedo boats not having that much AM support which is a bit of a shame. Great solution for finding some rivets for detailing the boat.
  23. That's a lot of masking. Good thing you had the Eduard set.
  24. Get better Gus! Sue had a bad cold two weeks ago that she couldn't shake. Finally tested herself and came back positive so the rest of us then tested. Findlay and I were positive as a well but asymptomatic. Edward was negative and immediately told everyone to stay away from him. Lol. We're all clear now. Hope you both recover as quickly as possible. Carl
  25. Thanks Peter. The PE really is going together much better than I thought it would. Rob, you've got the bigger challenge with the Arizona as the base kit is a lot cruder than what I'm dealing with.
