  1. Wow, that's a bunch of work. Would it have been easier to convert the Eduard/Hasegawa instead of trying to fix the Trumpeter kit? I know, it wouldn't be as "fun". Haven't had our dog or cats eat one of my models yet. Did have a squirrel chew on a Tamiya F-4J kit though. Left teeth marks in the nose cone and shredded the crappy decals.
  2. With less than 24 hours notice, the provincial government here has closed schools indefinitely. They sent them back for a day after the 4 day Easter weekend and have now left all the parents scrambling to find a solution. Awesome.
  3. Thanks Harv! I think I may have some in one of those Kagero books and will check that first.
  4. Thanks Rob for the heads up. I've heard there can be fit issues with it so I'll have to approach it accordingly.
  5. Hardly a small update. Lots done there and it all looks amazing.
  6. Had a package arrive today. The postmark was a bit confusing as it was issued in Canada. After opening the box I realized it was my Me163 I ordered off eBay from China.
  7. Great progress Gaz. The tracks, winter wash and weathering look fantastic. Can't wait to see it all tied together along with the figures. Carl
  8. As always, love the work that you do. Carl
  9. That's what I'm hoping for Harv. Lots of knowledgable folks on here. Carl
  10. Hi folks, I just managed to find an Italeri F-86F Sabre for a decent price. I'm hoping to make it into a Canadair Mk6 Sabre. Any idea on what's needed for the changes? I don't know much about Sabres except that they had wings...
  11. Very nice John. I had this kit in my stash but have no idea what happened to it. Carl
  12. Looks great. I've got a couple of the big Tamiya Porsches but not the 910. Carl
  13. Can't wait to see you start this John. I've done a few Tamiya Spits as well but not JE-J. I did JE-J Jr though. And yes, I think Tamiya slips something into their kits that makes them addictive. Carl
  14. Gus, there's a couple Chinese brands that I can think of but haven't tried yet. R Model Sanxin Spade Ace Best place to find them seems to eBay. Jeroen is using the Sanxin ones in a WiP at the moment but other than that I haven't seen any others in use. Carl
  15. Not sure it would fit Jeff. At least not under the hood.
  16. Got the paperwork all done on the Element yesterday morning and finally got to bring her home. There's a recall that just started last month on them. The recall involves an inspection of the rear trailing arm mounts and those that are failing are being bought out by Honda. Which is starting to make the ones that pass be more in demand.
  17. Check out Bronco Rog. They make numerous plastic track sets that don't break the bank. Some can be a pain to assemble (any of the Sherman tracks) but they have good sets and are working. Rye Field have also released the tracks from their kits in separate sets. They often include jigs that help speed up the assembly. Carl
  18. Fantastic work Rob and the step by step has been very informative. Carl
  19. The engine and tail look really good. I can't wait to see you work your painting magic on them. Carl
  20. Beats what my son said after he tried a sip of my Scotch one night. "Ahhh!!! It burns!!!"
  21. Well I got the Element to the dealership. The recall was taken care of and she passed the safety. So we're going through with the purchase. Now to get the old car ready for sale.
  22. Here he is tonight while I was reading to my boys at bedtime. Sunny gets way too comfortable.
  23. The interior looks fantastic Rob. I've got one of those fibre pens as well. Hadn't considered using it for Weathering but will have to give that a go. I also have similar sanding pens but more like a mechanical pencil.
  24. Let us know what you think of it Harv.
