  1. Rog, I saw these at Hannants and immediately thought of you: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ML329015?result-token=LGZ0O They're for an anniversary scheme but maybe a backup option for you. I haven't seen the GT Resin intakes for the Hornet (any of them) so hopefully someone else will reply. No idea on armaments either. Carl
  2. Here's a link to the Revell instructions: https://downloads.revell.de/Manuals-Modelkits/04961_%23BAU_MESSERSCHMITT_BF110C2_C-7.PDF Carl
  3. Ernie, Pastor John usually includes a CD with the instructions on it for his more complicated conversion sets. Hopefully I included it with the set I sold you. I'll take a look around just in case. As for the Dragon 110 instructions, I found the Hyperscale errata page still missed a couple things when I built mine last year. Having read through the Revell instructions (they're online thankfully for download) they've corrected most of the mistakes. Heres's what I found that the Hyperscale errata page missed: -There's wasn't any mention of the incorrect placement of the belly gun tray and a couple of the cockpit bulkheads. -The engine covers have the clear inserts for the instruments but they're not mentioned. -Also the tailwheel has to go on after the tailplanes and tail fairing are joined to the fuselage. The Revell instructions miss this bit too. -I still don't get the approach either company uses for installing the engine cowls but that's probably me. I'd say if you have the Dragon kit, print out the Revell instructions and use those. Carl
  4. Here's a quick update. I managed to finish painting over the pre-shading on the upper and lower hull. I did some of my more typical post-shading on some panels to make them slightly lighter. So a bit more assembly before some more weathering. Carl
  5. Nice progress there John! Some good looking subassemblies. Carl
  6. Count me in too. The timing works out nicely for me too. Carl
  7. Rog, a Legacy Hornet is any of the earlier Hornets ie the A through D models. It's a description sometimes used to help differentiate them from the Super Hornets. Carl
  8. Rog, I can't find a two seat Legacy Hornet kit either. Of course this is after I sold the one I had. So I'm probably out for getting masks made at this moment. DN Models made the custom masks for my CF-18 (one of this year's projects hopefully) and Slovak MiG-29UB. My original plan was to contact them for the RAAF ones so maybe drop them a line and see if they can help you out? Carl
  9. Rog, I got it from Hannants: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AMLA3212?result-token=fwH8U It's the wing cannon blisters and barrels so an easy conversion to use. Here's my Revell kit with the conversion kit. They also make an E wing conversion for the Tamiya IX kit. Carl
  10. Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try pre-shading some of the coloured panels in a suitable colour to complement the top coat. Carl
  11. Thanks Rog for the clarification. I didn't know they had an earlier release.
  12. Don't worry Harv, it's the Millennium Falcon. There's lots more weathering to do.
  13. Dale, if it's a Bf-110C, it's the Dragon kit re-boxed. The Dragon kit is great and builds up very nicely. Hope that helps. Carl
  14. Thanks Smitty! The idea of doing a light overall coat is good to know. It looks like I'm not far off the real thing. Carl
  15. So I'm not normally someone who pre-shades a model when I'm building it. In fact, if I do anything of the sort, it's post shading for me. That being said, I'm trying it out for the first time and wanted to see what you guys think. I've done the typical spray all the panel lines in black first step. But the next step is where I have questions. Do I spray a light overall cost or do I fill in the panels one by one? Here's the guinea pig, er test subject: The part on the right has been pre-shades and then painted with the primary colour. The one on the left has only the primary colour. The next two pics show the upper hull. I've done the painting by filling in the panels one at a time. Which I guess is more typical of post shading. Oddly, it's not as stark in real life. So what do you guys think? Carl
  16. I'm waiting for their MiG-29UB cockpit to come out for my Slovak Tiger Meet build. Carl
  17. I can't see why not? Ernie did say informal. I could be in with something. I have a couple kits that could fit the bill. Carl
  18. Condolences to Mig and the rest of his family. Carl
  19. Thanks Wumm! It definitely looks nicer than the kit parts. The gun bay is already opened up on the kit. I closed mine and the panel fit wasn't bad. Hopefully the Aires parts don't require much to make fit nicely. Carl
  20. Nice bunch of bikes there Rog. I've got a bunch of mountain bikes myself. The main one is an Ibis Mojo HD. Full carbon frame and XT gruppo with Industry Nine wheels. I have one of the last Mantis Flying V hardtails ever made with full XTR but a friend who owns a bike shop says it worth too much on the collector market for me to ride it. The closest I have to a road bike these days is a one off Kona prototype cross bike. They made the one and decided to not go ahead with production. Bought the frame from them for $50 and built it up with leftover mountain bike parts. A real mash up of a bike. And I agree, the bent over in the dropbars isn't for me anymore, especially with the way roads are these days. Carl
  21. LOL, probably easier than flying a stolen MiG by thinking in Russian . How's the Aires set look? I just closed up the fuselage on my He162 but used the Eduard PE set. Carl
  22. Great work there Tony. My sister dropped off a bunch of EAA Sport Aviation magazines over Christmas and the July 2019 issue has an article about firebombers and their history. It's a nice read. They mention the FPL Avengers in it. Carl
  23. Dale, I've started up again on my Bandai Millennium Falcon and am using Vallejo washes on it. Here's what they look like on a couple pieces. I thin them down with water as I apply them so they're not so opaque. Hope that helps. Carl
  24. LOL, no. That would be too much work and way above my pay grade. It just looked easier to do a new frame for the cockpit than try to build from the resin ones. At least to me. If it doesn't work, I still have the resin one as a back up.
  25. Looks very nice Rog. Can't let my wife see it. The road bike looks nice too. Is that a Dura Ace gruppo on it? Carl
