He's so rambunctious... keeping him calm is damn hear impossible. Anyway... the vet decided it was more likely his elbows. So, a few days later we took him in for a full panel of x-rays. The results floored me. He already has arthritis in both elbows....at 8 months old. The vet's prognosis is 3-4 years before he's in too much pain to move. But because of his young age he could be a candidate for surgery. So, I'm taking him to the specialist on Monday. But if the specialist can't tell me that he can have a full, normal, pain free life... We'll have to put him down. Hell, we might not even have the money to pay for two surgeries. They have to be done before he is a year old. Though he has always been my wife's dog, I feel totally gutted. Sorry to hear about your dogs health problems.....it can be tough especially when Your dog is still so young. Still, let's hope for the best and your dog responds well to treatment. Paul. 3 2 1
BlrwestSiR Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Damn, don't know what to say about that. Truly sorry to hear that sort of news. Hope they can do something for Kaiser. 4 1
BlrwestSiR Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 (edited) I was down in the basement looking for something when Fur followed me down. She was purring so hard that the bin she was sitting on started to rock. PXL_20220720_201920696.mp4 Edited July 21, 2022 by BlrwestSiR Fix typo 2 5

Martinnfb Posted July 30, 2022 Author Posted July 30, 2022 Same here, well the dogs are vaccinated:) needless to say that there was a tiny reddish mite crawling on my hand after I released him. I’m not sure about the type of it, here are some more shots. 4 1

I’m not sure about the type of it, here are some more shots. Just about every summer, we get a story on the local (Chicago) news about someone finding a bat on their driveway with a warning about rabies and the like. It seems ludicrous as there is a greater likelihood of being shot in Chicago than getting rabies from a bat! Especially considering the mayor, Lori Lightfoot presides over one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. (if not the WORLD) and her relationship with the police of that city is not in the least bit cooperative! 4
Martinnfb Posted July 31, 2022 Author Posted July 31, 2022 Sorry to hear that Paul. Stuff like rabies, lime disease, venomous snakes and such are definitely a very serious threads that you can encounter in the nature, still better than bullet in the belly. 3
GazzaS Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Kaiser is going in for orthoscopic surgery on Tuesday. The money will come from juggling accounts, but in the end be another debt. Gypsy's mother had two knee surgeries when she was 2 years old. Lived 7 and a half years. So, we got ripped off three years or so. But how do we quantify what we feel for our animals? Money is such a transitory thing, after all. Happy wife, happy life, they say. ...the story continues... 4 1

GazzaS Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Kaiser is home! Gypsy says "Welcome back!" On the good stuff... until Saturday. bone Zonked out. Our dogs love these beds. I allowed him to have his "bone time" bone inside the house. Once a day we have "bone time". Usually right after I get home from work. But on my days off, they seem to see 9AM as "bone time". 4 3
