Winnie
Planning to build the Trumpy A-6A in 32nd, with AOA decals for the movie Flight of the Intruder. I plan to fictionalize the fictionalized A-6E's used in the movie by Using the proper painting of the A with proper stencils, and then use the AOA decals for the movie airplane with the AOA A-6A stencils. I MAY try to cut masks for the fictional "USS Shiloh" from the book. I read the book to shreds when I was young, and I still enjoy both it and the sequel. So here's to Jake Grafton and Tiger Cole, Keep the faith shipmate! UNfondled plastic... highly unusual in my stash! and I've had the kit since before the "rona" 'Stickers' Thanks!
BlrwestSiR
I remember reading the book as well. The sequel Final Flight wasn't too bad either. Nice idea on doing the movie version of the plane. Carl

GazzaS
I was impressed by the A-6 when I saw them in El Toro. At that time, the F-18 was just coming in.
Jackster
I love the A6, never seen one for real though. I built the Hobbyboss in 1/48, great kit would love to try in 1/32. Cheers Kev
Winnie
Been quiet, but there is movement! No images as the ones I got were completely out of focus, but whatevs. Cockpit is soon done! just need decals on IP. Then the fuselage can be completed. Winnie
Obviously some weathering on the seats to come, as well as decals on seat and ip. Intakes need some work, then we slap together...

Peterpools
Nice work on the front office and exhaust. Surely stating to look the part.
Winnie
In a conundrum.. Folded or straight wings? Anybody have thoughts on this? Model is quite large, and I can keep the wings "detachable"... Tough decision for sure. I really like the look with the boards cracked and full flaps....
BlrwestSiR
That is a tough one. I usually prefer my models with the wing unfolded unless I'm building more than one of them. Maybe detachable is the way to go if they can stay in place unfolded?
Martinnfb
Tough indeed, I love the look of A-6 in any configuration.
KevinM
Now that green camo perked my interest never seen that before Martin.
Winnie
They are certainly lovely with everything out...
GazzaS
When I was a new Marine stationed temporarily at El Toro, the A-6's were flying around, doing touch-and-gos, and all of that other stuff. And one thing that struck me, was that while they were banking with the forward flaps deployed, how very red the primer colored areas looked. Really stunning with the solid gray color.
KevinM
I watched a video on this aircraft the other night quite an impressive little crate.
Winnie
So, small victories. Just dryfit, but I couldn't help myself... Going to paint some subassemblies, and work on other bits and get seats and such finished. Enjoy!
Winnie
Don't worry, the Iron Tadpole isn't forgotten! Small progresses made. Going to try to mate the engines today, before I go away for 2 weeks. Cheers!
PanzerWomble
Thats looking good - how's the kit Winnie , is it a Trumpy A or B team effort ? Must admit a fondness for the old Intruder and Prowler. What great names and great looking aircraft !
Winnie
In my opinion it's an A-team effort for sure. Solid steel undercarriage... Details are good and not overstated and the fit so far has been ok. There will be some filler needed under the intakes, and typical Trumpeter every single hatch that can be opened is... But I give it a strong B- so not altogether bad.
Winnie
Got back a couple days ago from run one of away-duties. so slapped some paint on the undercarriage and engines. the engines will be clsoed in so not much to be seen, but there are 2 holes in the cowl. a bit of practice for me then! Still lots of detail parts to go through. Cheers Harald 5
