I could cannibalize Tamiya and consequently being hated for another 3, maybe 4 generations to come.

I read this and then looked over to one side of my bench where there's a spare set of Tamiya cowlings. Their kits come with 2 sets: one in grey and another in clear. Just say the word and I'll send them your way. I'll even make sure I send the right ones this time. :D

Well, Carl, if Martin does not want them, I might be a taker ;)

Wow Martin you are cruising through this build, which seems so full of obstacles, but the way you address them make it look easy. Great scratchwork on the clear paarts and fuselage and great painting. Love the spinners, which are a focal point in every build.
A heavy dose of Massive Attack always helps. I frequently help myself to a very loud listening session every here and than. I love Mezzanine more than Protection, but Heligoland is their best imho, which was btw the most valuable album in my stash. People were willing to pay up to 1200 € for it, until they made a re-release. The value is only a fun fact to me, as I never sell vinyls and bought this one for 30 € new.

Cheers Rob

Today I realized that HKM decals are not exactly what I need and after spilling lacquer over the wing there was the time to resurrect my plotter.
pictures are in chronological order

next ( hopefully) interior, gear and bomb bays. Then some more paint.

Hi Martin, loving the build it's looking fantastic. What's the story here with the plotter, I would really like to be able to produce my own masks like this - what's involved, the results are amazing !

thanks

Thank you Kevin :)

, Thank you Neil , you guys are way too kind. This is such a messy job, it’s not even funny.
regarding the plotter, couple years back I bought Shillouete Cameo and that thing has been sitting in the box ever since. Just didn’t have the time to get organized and set up my future hobby room.  Regarding the masks, it’s a learning curve. Mastering software takes time and patience. Blade pressure adjustment for instance can be finicky when you’re changing mediums and complexity of your design. Fortunately there’s a whole bunch of videos online.
to turn decals into mask is fairly simple, to create your own is more time consuming, but it pays off for a long run.

Martin

Terrific save and the masks absolutely look great and surely save a lot of time in decal application. I just finished doing the Spitfire decals, needed two different sets (mfg's) and took me three days to apply and that's not counting in the gloss and prep work. I'm starting to lean more and more towards masks and wish the AM mask guys would include the correct color mixes. I'm not very good at mixing and matching paint colors and that would clean up a huge issue for me.

Markings look like tattooed on, nice save Martin. I have to think about that plotter thing.

Sure, wish my limited computer skills weren't so limited so I could make the masks I need/want. Guess it's just not in the cards for me.
