From Dspiae, their Push Broach Combination Set (CS-PBO1).

Comes with 5 sizes of Broaches  and an anodized aluminum handle.

I bought an extra broach with a 2.8mm tip (PB-28). Basically these

Boaches are tiny chisels. I'd seen the tips listed separately before

and I was interested, but didn't know which ones to get. Finally, I found

this set. I'll probably use the 2.8mm size the most.

I also got a MENG Nuts And Bolts set. This one being set D (SPS-009).

This set is really a set of rivets; round head and conical. I have their other

sets and like using them......somehow, I overlooked this set.

Thanks for explaining what the broaches are. I keep seeing them abd had no idea what they were or how to use them. Makes much more sense now.

I got my my Carpet Monster back.

Fur has been sick the last week. On Monday, I noticed that she clicked while walking. Which cats shouldn't do as their nails retract. Sure enough, she had  4 that were badly ingrown. They curled all the way around and were actually puncturing her paws. Don't know how she put up with the pain. Anyways, I brought her to the vet and they duly took care of them. Unfortunately they noticed that she was dehydrated and potassium deficient. Both are signs of kidney dysfunction which we knew she had but it wasn't as bad.  Sue was really worried that we would have to put her to sleep. But after an IV and some potassium supplements, she's closer to being her old self again. We might not much more time with her, (she's 20 years old best guess) but we'll be happy to enjoy what we have.

Sad to hear,  but glad the treatment helped and she's back with you. I remember finding the same

condition with the nails with  my Mom's dog and having to cut them

regularly until he died....not an easy task. Mikey lived 18 years.

Your collection of Dspiae tools continues to cover their complete range. Super quality and they seem to cover almost every tool needed for nearly every modeling job.  Enjoy.

The Nuts and Bolts do look mighty good as well.

So glad Fur responded well to her treatment and you're so right, just enjoy her for the time the family has with her.

Good news, sadly we have lost both of our much loved cats, both were adopted when we lived in Australia and we brought them back to the UK, Sydney was 15 when we lost him and Max was 18, they do become so much more than pets.

Cheers

Thanks everyone. Fur is pretty much back to her old self.

She's the last of the pets that Sue and I had when we met. She had two cats,  Fur and Tasha while I had Zoe. Tasha and Zoe are both passed on. Sunny and Jimmy came along later but the day Fur passes, it'll be a changing of the guard. I think we'll be sticking with just these two for the time being.

Wow, what a long life she has had.  Good to hear she responded well to her care.   My feline fur ball won’t let me near his nail, but as a kitten I was able to trim them.  He’s not having any part of that now.   He will bite his off to keep them in check though.  He wakes up at night while he’s on the foot of the bed gnawing on those things.

Scott, it hink it's because of Fur's age that her nails have become an issue. She didn't have problems before but she doesn't climb any more so her nails don't wear down like they would if she was more active.

There's no way I could have trimmed her nails when she was younger. Hopefully knowing to check on them I should be able to.

Jimmy's nails are always trim from his walks and size while Sunny uses his all the time climbing and hunting.

Today feels like Christmas in May.
I was lucky enough to score one of the only 200 Model Factory Hiro 1/12 kits of The Williams FW16 Special edition. Sale started at 07:00 pm JST on May 07 and a quarter of an hour later, there was a massage, all were sold. What a relieve, to receive an email some hours later, that my request was successful.
MFH released that kit some years ago, but revised a lot of parts for this edition. Decals are Cartograph printed now and include the bubu sponsor decals hidden in a separate envelope. Now there are three sheets of carbon decals (formerly one) and some of the resin parts were revised, where the carbon structure was casted on. Also with this release, the complete engine is made from white metal parts, no resin parts, like in the former release. MFH added masking templates and a 1/12 resin figure of a standing Ayrton Senna and beautifully etched nameplate.

P1011510.thumb.JPG.e13f9897cdbcd0321c596f428aa5a349.JPG

P1011508.thumb.JPG.c6fad81061b2b1c94913b5ce36290158.JPG

Not as spectacular, but nonetheless very welcome were a lot of decal sets for different WWI projects.

For my soon to start in between build of the Meng 1/24 Fokker DR.I I added Aviattics Joseph Jacobs livery. Sidenote, not all DR.I were red :D.

P1011514.thumb.JPG.d1a0a39b26d189bee4964a7a5d29feb4.JPG

But my WNW Le Rhone Camel will be red with this set of Aviattic decals

P1011512.thumb.JPG.4bd5e5d9387430b527fba4c38df5cb25.JPG

I also added etched bracing wire for testing with the Camel and fitting resin bracing clamps from AIMS and British Roundels for different WNW kits, because I often read, the kit supplied decals for the roundels are prone to tear.

P1011515.thumb.JPG.ee6ffcb0c93d6da6ccf89891901e6370.JPG

Some HGW plywood for my Albatros D.VII. This is a new edition and I hope they work well. I have not the best experiences with HGW decals to say the least. If they fail, it´s oil colors.

P1011511.thumb.JPG.839f9dc8646531aaeae671e6e805d703.JPG

Lastly some lozenge for my 1/72 Eduard Fokkers, also a nice in between build and Aviattics interpretation of lozenge schemes looks so much superior to the Eduard kit decals.

P1011513.thumb.JPG.c7310a4fc4d15b15a67f8673bfd3417b.JPG

Not shown, two sheets of Aviattic French linen decal for my Copper State Caudron G.III.

Cheers Rob

Congratulations on being one of the very, no extremely lucky buyers for the MFH Williams FW16.  Also some mighty nice WWI decals and accessories for your future build projects. Looking forward to following all of them down the road.

Rob, you must have luck on your side at the moment, buy a lotto ticket……..great catch on the MFH, a modicum outside of my budget…….you are right about the decals on WnW, the Camel decals just disintegrated on me and the Camel has been on the SOD ever since…….

Never played lotto my whole life, Phil, but I´m tempted now :D.
Maybe these AIMS roundels are a way for your Camel of the SOD. I´d like to see it in full bloom.

Some items today.

From DSPIAE, their Angle Cutting Station (AT-CJ). This was a gift, actually,

and a very nice one. It's very solidly built an nicely finished. I already

tried it out on some styrene rod about 3mm thick.....it worked well and

I think this thing could prove very useful.

I also got some UV cure resin. From Piccassio, two bottles, each 100g.

this set comes with extra nozzles, 2 mixing cups made of silicone, and

2 stirring things ( I think) also made of silicone.....although I'm not

sure how much stirring one can do with these sad limp things.

Anyway, I haven't worked with this stuff before. I have my Dspiae UV flashlight, and an ancient blacklight from the early 70's that

I can use.

It just happened so quickly! I stumbled into the store and rolled out and there it was under my arm... lol

I watched the youtube series from the "midwest model shop" about the USS Enterprose (the CV-6), and wanted that, but the Pontos was wildly expensive... so I looked at another video, and decided I need a "dreadnaught" in my collection. Tge kit gets mostly good reviews, and the PE looks to be fairly ok-ish. Lots of fiddly bits, but also lots of visual pleasure! I was just going to get a few Eduard sets for it, but they're hard to come by so I'm going to do the Pontos for this one.

Cheers!

That would be a pretty big pocket!

I keep finding myself looking at the series of 1/200 kits and thankfully have resisted  their siren's call.

I’ve had accidents like that.  I picked up the Arizona many years ago.  I was targeting the Missouri as well, but just never found one at the price point I was comfortable with.   Yea, it would just be taking up room in my stash right now (like the Arizona is) if I did get it.

I'll probably end up starting it, but I need some space for the hull... Also I'm going to go against convention, and paint her in measure 32 as when commissioned, as opposed to ms22 when surrender was signed. just to be different
