Hobby Boss P-61

Recommended Posts

I had begun work on this kit a few months ago and lost my "want to" and put it away for "later". Well, now is later, at least for the foreseeable future. Here's a pic to show it's current state. We'll see how it goes. :)

Ooh I wondered what this would be like

I have to say that, in my humble opinion, it has a high cuss-factor. Especially the very fiddly PE parts for the intake dividers. I may substitute some plastic strips cut to size as I think that would be much easier.

Good to see this back on the bench. John.  It’s one of those “do it once” builds, and you’re gonna knock this one clean out of the park, man!

We'll see Ernie! :)

Glad to see the P-61 back on the bench and underway way again.

Looking forward to following your progress.

Agreed!

As a example, here's a shot of the intakes and louvers. The kit PE pieces are VERY fiddly (a good example of the cuss-factor). I decided to use little strips of sheet plastic instead.

Now I find this creates a problem fitting the "lips" (E8 & E9) to the intakes. Re-thinking this now. :wallbash:
