Carl, hope you get back to the bench soon.........

Thanks Phil! The forecast is for rain all weekend but thankfully not the quantities we saw Wednesday. I've left most stuff off the floor for now just in case. Meantime, it gave me an excuse to cleanup a bit more. So I should be back at it later today.

So I'm back in business. During the cleanup, I found a kit I'd started previously and forgotten about. So I started working on it.

Things are moving nicely with this one. I got the legs together and just need to paint some parts to finish the upper torso.

Glad to see you back in business!  Looks like something you can weather one to your hearts content!

I'm having a shitty day...modelwise....   Lost a machine gun and it's mount and my tank just won't look complete without it,  I painted the damn thing two days ago.  But have torn apart the house looking for it.  Mojo killed.  I can cannibalize an older build...  but I'm not feeling keen.

Thanks Gaz! Definitely opportunities for weathering the build.

What MG did you lose? If it's something German, I can look around in my spares box for you.

Thank you for the offer.  I lost the MG3 and it's mount for a leopard 2a4.  Replacing the MG is no trouble...  it's the mount that matters most.  I could probably scratch it...  I'm just not in the mood.

After completing a couple large scale builds, I figure it's time to get back to some of my 1/48 scale treasures.  The is Hobby Boo Boo's Fw 190D9.  Amidst the mess.  Partially experimental.

I've decided regular model glue can take a long time to cure.  Sinking and revealing seams that weren't there the day you sanded them smooth.  So, all of the major seams along the wing edges and fuselage halves...  I'm gonna glue with CA.

Usually my photos here are taken after a bench clear off.  But this is what it normally looks like;

Hmmmmmm  a lighter, bottle top..........modelling under the influence.........:respect:

Haha...  not under the influence...  I save beer bottle caps for holding CA or white glue.  The lighter is for burning CA off of my CA applicator.  The wooden stick holds my CA applicator.  Alcohol gives me heart palpitations so I can;t drink and build at the same time.  But yeah...  I wish I could.

I know, I know.  I was supposed to start back on the He219 now that the railcar is finished but I found another forgotten build and started up on it instead. :D

It's the AVF Club M60A2. I thought I'd lost some parts to it which is why I'd stopped working on it. Turns out they weren't lost but still on the sprues.

For me it’s not what’s on my bench, but what is under it...

Considering it’s been in the mid to high 90’s with heat indexes over 100, I begged my wife to let me buy an air conditioner for the garage. I also relocated my bench so I have natural outside light and much closer to the A/c unit.

It is nicely done. Really gives it that cast metal feel.

I got the upper hull on. The hull shape is not what I expected without the fenders and such on.

The suspension arms are all done now too.

A bit of work on the Takom M47. My usual tendency is to do everything else, and then fit the crew, if any. Consequently, I'm pretty tired of the project by then and the figgies are rushed and who knows what kind of stresses the completed kit are subjected to. So, in a bid to be different and create a better model I've built basic structures to support the crew with bits of sprue and Evergreen sheet where required.

Despite Covid 19 I received these metal figures from Dolp Zinnafiguren in Germany. They've been assembled with CA and and seams filled with milliput which was smoothed with wet cotton buds. I'm trying to avoid sanding lead and resin whenever possible.

Tomorrow, once the milliput has dried, I can prime them.

Hubert mention my FLAK 38 gun from bronco In the what did you just get thread. It was a thought to replace the old Tamaya one for my FLAK tower. It will be in a diorama and it’s been on and off my desk.

I like strange and unique models

My boys have each got a Tamiya RC buggy that they helped assemble. My oldest recently wanted to get an RC monster truck to go with it. I was fixing the steering on his buggy and while going through my spare parts, I found some rear hub extenders. Meant for slightly bigger buggy tires, they're the same drive hex size as the rear tires from that VW Bus I posted earlier. Well, that led to seeing I'd I get the fronts on. Which meant new front steering arms with longer axles. Which led to longer tie rods for the steering.

Here's the end result. Edward's stock buggy is on the right with Findlay's monster buggy on the left.

Otherwise, they're identical. Edward wants the same thing now is the only problem. :wallbash:

They're both currently using a smaller 380 size electric motor. I might switch the one in Findlay's to a 540 to help compensate for the bigger tires.
