  1. Interesting subject Peter and another Special Hobby kit used. Like the topic of Kevin and his Jak I will follow your build closely. Curious which experiences you will make. I have their Jak 9 in my stash. PS: When will you start your ZM He-219?
  2. I also sometimes had the fogging of future when I used Mr. Mark Softer. But this disappears immediately when the foggy area is brushed again with future. You just have to keep your nerves… And weathering over future with oils worked without any trouble on all models I built.
  3. Sad to hear that Harv! Hope you are able to get back to the bench very soon! All the best for you! Hope you will be well again soon! Cheers Kai
  4. Found an article where the modeler scratched a sunchair for a Luftwaffe pilot: https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=2174 Also interesting diorama. Maybe it helps a little…
  5. A lot of progress Gary. Can you post a foto of 1., 2., and 5.? I‘m so curious! 7. looks really stunning and well prepared for the paintshop. Hope that the next update will come soon!
  6. Great article you wrote for Large Scale Planes Gary. Really enjoyed it and it’s nice to see that you make this beauty visible to a greater public: For all interested: Here you can find it: https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=3605
  7. It’s more than usable Rob! Looks quite realistic !
  8. Thank you Craig! I still have to finish the little diorama for her and then will start a Dambuster-Tornado with electronics from Magic Scale Modeling. Will use the Italeri kit.
  9. That’s really bad news Peter. The model turned out stunning and your plan how to remove the canopy will work for sure! Maybe you can try Future or Pledge instead of Mr Color Gloss Clear. Can be airbrushed unthinned and never caused any trouble so far. You reduce the risk drastically since no thinner is used. After your repair this will be an awesome model. Is the open canopy variant no option for you? The parts should be left over from the kit or am I wrong?
  10. Looks great John! Perfect finish!
  11. Only on the radar not in the stash…
  12. +1: great problems-solving! Love it!
  13. Looks as stunning as the building !
  14. What a different subject Rob and what a nice one! Great start and the engine and brake-discs look stunning. Making all these holes in them will pay off in the end. I will follow this closely. I build some Revell 1/12 motor-bikes when I was young and also have a 1/12 Tamiya bike on the radar.
  15. Thank you Rod, much appreciated! Thank you for your compliments Gary! The kit is really challenging but can be turned into a nice model with some effort. The Tornado will be one of the 2 jubilee planes of 617 Sqn. on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dambuster raid in 1943: It will receive a set of electronics like my Dambuster Lancaster and I plan to exhibit both of them in Telford 2022: I will add more information about the goodies I have when I start the build. Thank you for your great feedback Rob! I also love the jets of this era like you. All iconic: F-104, F-4, F-100, Mirage, Lightning, Hunter, MiG21. Just to name some of them. The baseplate should add some life to the plane so that the viewer gets an impression of the size Thank you Mark! Much appreciated! I‘m also waiting for the ECR-Version which I will also build. Thank you for the compliment Gus. You also won the fight against it and I really can’t wait to see your beautiful Cheetah finished! Thank you for all your compliments Peter! I improved the base-plate and replaced the info-plate by a better one: I will start the Tornado as soon as I‘ve finished the diorama. Nice to hear that you will follow the build!
  16. Awesome build with a stunning livery! That‘s a real eyecatcher Marco!
  17. Looks great Carl! Intakes fully integrated and well done rescribing job: basis for a stunning model in the end!
  18. Here is the roll-out of my Mirage III CJ of the Israeli Airforce which will be part of the Mirage SIG in Telford this year. I won’t tell any more details of the build here. This can be read in the work in progress category: So here are the roll-out pictures: And finally 2 fotos of real IDF Planes: One showing how less weathered they were - even on the undersides and being in combat - and the other one from the aircraft I built: That’s it and now up to the next: Happy modeling!
  19. Scott, some modelers use AK Metalizer on bare plastic without any primer or basecoat. I‘ve tried this in my Mirage Nozzle and it works: Maybe you could give it a try on an old piece of plastic ?
  20. Skat is still played in Germany bit more in the north where I originally come from. I knew how to play it but have meanwhile forgotten. In the south where I live now since 1981 they play Schafkopf (Sheephead) which I never learned and which had special cards totally different from the ones used for Skat. I‘m really curious to see your chair! And don’t forget to continue with the 109…
  21. Great looking parachute Gary! No need to take one out of the set you ordered! You are really taking the long way: Nice idea to scratch the chair too. Will be a stunning little diorama in the end! Looking forward to seeing the next update!
  22. Thank you Phil! Would have been nice if we met personally in Telford, but maybe next year? Thanks for the big compliment Kevin. I won’t put it in the contest in Telford because it’s part of the Mirage SIG (and I don‘t think it’s good enough to win a price in a contest…)
  23. You’re more than welcome Gary. Please post some fotos when you finished your scratchbuild version! Curious how it will look like!
