  1. So I'm at my bench and I look down on it and see this. I'm not sure if it's the right MG, but if so, let me know and I can send it off to you. Carl
  2. I picked up an assortment of subjects the other day. I disguised the trip as an outing to take the boys mountain biking. First off, something sci-fi. Gojira! Or rather his mechanical doppleganger. Next up, the new Rye Field Sheridan. Haven't seen any buildups of it yet. I'll most likely do it in the 3 tone NATO camo. Next up is the new-ish Revell 262. These have been hard to find here in Canada. At least for me. Carl
  3. I flew on the 747 a few times but always in steerage. Never got to go upfront except when boarding or disembarking. Still, the room inside was great. They certainly had presence. Carl
  4. Great looking Leopard Gaz. I looked around and couldn't find a replacement MG and mount for you. I thought there might be one in my spares box but there wasn't. Carl
  5. Thanks Jeff! Phil, for the most part the fit was good and just the wing leading edge needed a quick cleanup. I lightly sanded the edge with a sponge style sanding stick and then did the creases with a razor saw. The saw was on the thicker side so it fit nicely and only took a short pass to clean up the seam.
  6. Thanks Rob! It's certainly different from the typical WWI planes. Thanks Bill Build it Harv! It's a great kit.
  7. It'll depend now on when the border opens. So the plan is to go, just have to be able to get there. Carl
  8. I finally got around to taking pics of my WNW Junkers D.1 A fun build. Certainly a great intro to WWI aircraft Here's the WIP for those interested. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/7291-wnw-junkers-d1/ Carl
  9. Ok, I took some pics of my other Spitfires. My second Tamiya Spit was Tolly Hello using the Zotz decal sheet. Using the Alley at conversion set, I did a PR XI. Next was MH434 as Rabbit Leader's AL-A I tried to replicate the painted on oil leaks they had done for the film.
  10. They were going to release one as well.
  11. That could work for me. Takes up much less space. Plus gives you an excuse to use the clear fuselage that they included in the full kit.
  12. It's a citrus based cement. So it is supposedly not as toxic. I got it for my boys to use. We'll see how well it works.
  13. Got me some Tamiya Extra Thin. And some other paints and supplies. Tamiya semi-gloss black is proving hard to find as well these days so I grabbed a couple when I found them. Carl
  14. Thanks Gaz! Definitely opportunities for weathering the build. What MG did you lose? If it's something German, I can look around in my spares box for you.
  15. HMS Speedy looks great there Ernie. Carl
  16. Rob, Tamiya primer is available in jars. It comes in the same jar as their cement. You can get white and grey. Maybe that would be easier to get to your island? https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishing/liquid-surface-primer-40ml/ It needs to be thinned down to spray through an airbrush.
  17. So I'm back in business. During the cleanup, I found a kit I'd started previously and forgotten about. So I started working on it. Things are moving nicely with this one. I got the legs together and just need to paint some parts to finish the upper torso.
  18. Thanks Phil! The forecast is for rain all weekend but thankfully not the quantities we saw Wednesday. I've left most stuff off the floor for now just in case. Meantime, it gave me an excuse to cleanup a bit more. So I should be back at it later today.
  19. I asked Sue and she said keep your mask on when you sneeze. It'll be potentially gross for the wearer but it's doing its job of preventing the spread of aerosol spray. So hope that helps. Carl
  20. Thankfully nothing permanent. Quite a few homes did get flooded as well as people's cars.
  21. Back in grade school I was nearly sent to the office by our substitute teacher as I started having a sneezing fit. The class started counting every time I sneezed. She thought I was doing it on purpose and disrupting the class. The whole class as one said I never just once and that's just the way I sneezed. As for the original question, I'm not really sure. I haven't sneezed with my mask on thankfully but like Jeff, you've got me thinking now. I'll ask Sue in the morning and see what she says. She's a research librarian for our public health system. Carl
  22. The toughest part of a Tamiya Spitfire build. I think it's the panels being so flimsy and having only that tiny tab on them to align the that makes it such a pain.
  23. Same here. It's been so dry so far. Until the other day.
  24. We have a bit. We're the middle of 4 row houses and they were the first homes built on the street. Their original use was as hotels for the horseracing track that existed here originally. By hotels, they were ones where the rooms were rented by the hour. There's a historical plaque at the end of our street with more details about the racetrack itself. I'll try to grab a pic of it the next time I'm walking the dog. When my sister lived in Paris, her walk up apartment was over 400 years old. It was around the corner from La Bastille so I can only imagine the history of her old building.
  25. Thanks Jeff! No permanent damage. The basement is all concrete so no drywall to worry about either. Most of my stuff is off the floor for that very reason. We've gotten used to it. The problem is our house was built in 1894 and it's settled crooked. So part of the foundation wall at the back ends below ground. So when the water pools at the back, it comes over the top of the wall and into the basement. We've made a few changes outside the house to help mitigate the situation and it's worked until all the rain the other day. The laneway behind our house flooded too but we weren't impacted by that. The kids had fun though.
