  1. I guess they felt calling it a Probe might not work.
  2. Rob, the Wild Willy was my first RC car. They still make that one too. I've also got a VW Type 2 bus on the same chassis for my wife to try out. We'll see how that goes. Carl
  3. Something I've wanted since Tamiya first released it back in the '80s: Honda City Turbo or as it was originally called, Willy's Wheeler. I picked it up a few years ago when Tamiya decided to reissue it. Decided it was time to build it. It's a1/10 RC car which is where Tamiya truly make their money from. Carl
  4. Yup, definitely a Mosquito. Carl
  5. I was going to ask the same question. There was a hobby shop here in Toronto that used to have a B-36 model hanging from the ceiling. The wingspan was at least 8ft. When the shop closed I have no idea what they did with it. Carl
  6. Got a bit more done yesterday. The seat and engine are both installed now. I'm hoping to start closing up the fuselage soon. Carl
  7. Really nice build and great looking display. The addition to the base makes a difference too. Carl
  8. Maybe some poutine and back bacon would help? All kidding aside, great work so far Tony. Carl
  9. Found a bit of confirmation on the F-51 release listed on Tamiyablog. There's no release date but it's not on the list of January releases so February perhaps? Carl
  10. The pace on the Junkers D.1 slowed down a bit as I got distracted building this guy: It's a resin 1/35 Zero from Industria Mechanika. Just needs the canopy and maybe a couple hinomarus to finish it off. Carl
  11. We'll, it seems it was more than a day or so for my next update. I haven't worked too much on the Junkers lately but have made some progress. I finally got the pilot's seat done. I used the kit PE belts and they worked out ok. I also worked on the engine a bit. They're probably not completely accurate but for some reason I wanted to do all the bolts in brass so I did. That's it for now. Carl
  12. Congrats on #3 and and soon to be #4. I'm still wrapping my head around the great-grandad bit too. If our boys wait as long as Sue and I did before we got married and had kids, we'll be lucky to even see them get married!!! Carl
  13. The pre-shading was a challenge but it turned out nice
  14. Some of you may have noticed our cat in some of my previous WIP pics. Usually she's in my lap or checking out my progress. We'll the kitten has decided that's too passive and wants front row seats to the action: I'm curious what will happen when I start up the compressor? Hopefully it won't be a situation where Ernie would want to break out a Gatling. As for model-y bits on the bench, I've been working on a resin Zero kit: Just need a canopy and then back to the Junkers. Carl
  15. Man, that's a tough one to follow Harv. You win! Carl
  16. Odd result with the Mr Surfacer as you and others have said but I'm glad to see you've been able to fix the issue. Carl
  17. I was going to say Concorde as well but Smitty has thrown up a very valid option. Decisions, decisions. Carl
  18. So Richard, how many are you getting? And nice to see you here. Carl
  19. Was just on Lucky Model and they have a 1/32 F-51D Korean War Mustang listed. https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=TA 60328 The part number and price seem to fit in line with the rest of the line. Providing it's correct, I wonder what Tamiya will be adding to the kit? Even though it's just possibly just a new version of an existing kit, at least it's something. Carl
  20. Quite aware of that Hubert. But at least more plausible than an X-Wing fighter. Carl
  21. I built it a few years ago. It's a very nice model. Just wish it was in 1/32.
  22. Don't colleges take model stashes as payment for tuition? I'd have both my boys covered through med school if that's the case. Carl
  23. Congratulations Harv and Bev! I still remember when Sue and I told my parents they were going to be grandparents. Carl
  24. I'd love to get a 2nd gen Ridgeline. It's all the truck we'd need. But it only sits 5 and our next car has to be a 6 seater at least.
