Didn't I see it reported somewhere recently that they've pulled the plug on this as it wasn't particularly stealthy at all and was too expensive?

1st LSM Christmas Raffle (list updated)
GusMac replied to Clunkmeister's topic in General Discussion
I'm in please Ernie and I'll donate a Trumpeter A-7E as I somehow managed to order a duplicate. -
Having built the Trumpeter Jug my main piece of advice would be to join the spine inserts to the fuselage halves and then join them, rather than as the instructions show. Gets you a far neater finish. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this.

Nice stuff James. I take it it wasn't 'buy one get 5 free' on the Tempests?

FINISHED!!! Revell 1/48 B-29 finished in Bare Metal Foil
GusMac replied to JohnnyK's topic in Non LSM 'WIP
Lovely final result and the jug gives a great sense of just how big this beastie is. -
Yep, that was worth a snigger, but also ingenious! You obviously don't have a dog who gets to roam free where you're modelling. Our 2 would have thought .. oh, cool a nice bed ..

I'll go with TJTX. I use the Mr Surfacer 1500 black thinned with their Levelling Thinner and you get a great finish although it does stink. I'm always masked up but my wife is never too happy if the smell percolates through any other parts of the house. Hence I tend to prime when I know she'll be gone for a good while!

Looking good!

Superb work again Rich. Such attention to detail in places that'll barely be seen.
-
Have a good one. Hope you get all you want.

Great example of the exhaust discolouration on the upper wings! -
Yeah, I think we sometimes overlook just how nice our landscape is here. When you get the weather there is no place better. Just don't rely on the weather too far ahead!

Trumpeter 1/32 A1-J Skyraider
GusMac replied to WattsNZ's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I'm may be paranoid but I tend to wash everything in a mild detergent solution before I start any kit having had issues with AFV Club and Trumpeter stuff in the past. The AFV Shot Kal was definitely the worst I've ever experienced. Probably didn't help it was Vallejo paint but you could just about roll it off with your finger. Mucho frustration. -

Ah, serendipity Pete. Finally get the perfect result and no bl***y idea how to repeat it. Been there before. Result does look beautifully smooth. -

Nice part of the world you've moved to Dennis. Funnily enough we both have a settlement called Glenbervie fairly close by. Went to Whangarei many moons ago on the way to a jet boating trip in the Bay of Islands. Look forward to seeing what you pick to christen the new bench. -
Lovely finish. I take my hat off to anyone who can pull off a foiled airframe and that's one of the best.

Our local beach on a nice winters day.. And a favourite dog walking route on a more typical winter's day...
