I had to cancel a flight because our planes are snowed in and were due for another bought of snow on Wednesday. It's an absolute cluster down here. We just aren't equipped for this type of stuff. I hear that!! We in NW Louisiana are in the same boat.

TJTX
The best way for people not from here to understand what we are dealing with is this.... The temperature is literally 100° less than what we're used to dealing with. Let that sink in!

Administrators Clunkmeister Posted February 18, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 18, 2021 No, but we get by. Most of us are amateur survivalists so we won’t die immediately. We can hunt for food, melt snow to drink, etc.

Weekend prices are $1.50 to $1.60 per litre... and we're not talking Premium. And right now your dollar is .97 cents of ours.

I guess they have to make up for all this lock down stuff where no one is really driving.... ( or working?)
biggtim
All this makes me grateful for the moderate winter we've had in the NW this year. We often get nailed, but I guess this is our year off. Last summer was rather mild, too. Fire season didn't kick off until August. Of course, once it did, it made up for lost time, but at least it was shorter. Can't complain this time!!! Tim I have to agree with you , Tim, as our weather here in southern British Columbia was the nicest one that I can remember in years.... we had 'some' snow, but not like usual, a fair bit of rain but nothing over whelming, it was a very mild and quite pleasant one to be sure... as you guys know I workd for highways maintenance for 38 years and have 10's of thousands of highway plow miles under my belt, in some of the worst and most challenging conditions, and winter is NOT my most favorite season, but this winter was a cake walk....most of the snow is gone down low and the boys are sweeping the sand off the highways now................... so we will see what summer brings.....
