Started with the rotted lamited wood using a dremel tool at slow speed. I need to take away more first before i add some back.

Nicely chewed.

I have a Jack Russell (not the one in my avatar, but her nephew) who is good at that sort of finish but generally not on the parts you want it on!

Heres a few images of the Ho229 at both Silver Hill facility and Udvar Hazy PRU.  Hope some of these images will be helpful.

I know they were struggling for resources by the end of the war but the quality of that timber and it's treatment is pretty remarkable. I've seen timber constructions a fraction of the age of that which have deteriorated far more rapidly. The Germans always could do 'build quality'.

Thnx for those pics Rick!

sprayed a black AK base. Then various wood shades on wooden areas. After the paint has thoroughly dried i’ll spray hairspray and then build up the grey and green shades.

also drilled out the rivets on the nose and sawed the joint line.

This is looking really good, are you sure about adding the wings? Somehow your Ho looks special without, looking at your pictures (no joke this time).

Cheers Rob
