  1. I like the contrast with the red ones and I agree, the steel shine finish is just superb. Seems to be the right car for Robo-Cop if he fits in . These type of cars are normally not my pair of shoes, but with that paintjob you created something special. Cheers Rob
  2. Hola Tom, very nice result, clean, lean and subtle. I specially like the interior and the shading. Can't wait to build mine from the other brand (HK) but have to wait due to other projects Cheers Rob
  3. Nice mottling, the paintjob just looks right. These antennas would scare me to death. When I do my Owl I will fit them at the last possible moment, metal or not.
  4. Hola friends of the Polystyrol, big changes in our forum and a very tiny plane to show. My very last build before I left Berlin last year was a pleasant one, because the fit of the parts was ok and the addition of PE for the cockpit area made things easier, specially in 1/72. First I decided to go for a camouflaged finish, but then I changed my opinion, because I wanted to do my first Natural Metal Finish and trying different shades of Alclad Aluminium. I liked the result and the decals blended in well. The markings are finish and yes, there are some tiny parts missing. After 3000 miles in a container the little bird arrived in a not too bad shape. Cheers Rob
  5. Hi Danny, my pleasure Senhor, I opened a new topic in the Walk-Around-Section and left some photos there. Hope that helps. http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/5036-p-47d-yanks-museum-chino-california/ Greetings to all the Juggernauts Rob
  6. Hola friends of the Jug, on public demand I will offer some detail photos of a P-47D, a subject which seem to stir the masses, last but not least because Eduard released the Dottie Mae recently. I have just the Eduard 1/48 Limited edition in my stash, but together with some nice add ons I hope to have a pleasant future build. I hope you enjoy the pictures, which where not easy to take, because of the light conditions and cramped space and limited access. So don't judge to hard. Cheers Rob
  7. I just love the Jugs, straight powerful design which screams durability. As a teaser I want to show you a picture from a close neighbor of Dottie Mae. It is another P-47 from Yanks-Museum, directly besides Planes of Fame in Chino. I have some more detail pics of that P-47. If you are interested i might put them into the Walkaround-Section. Cheers Rob
  8. Impressive, I will follow. With that piece of scrap you have the perfect source for the so much discussed interior color of the MIG.
  9. Nice coconuts Danny . I really like your method and will keep it in mind for a future Beach-Project. Just took a reference shot in the garden and what's left to say you nailed it. For me there is no time for modelling today, because I have to cut the real palm .
  10. Congratulations, you nailed the Fokker. The propeller looks like real wood and the worn finish of the DVII is perfect. As been born in Berlin there is one question left. Are you sure that this is a Berliner Bär Logo? It looks more like a lion, although the red tongue is very typical for a Berliner Bär.
  11. Hi Fellow-Modellers, this is not only my first project of the year, it is also the premiere build in my new house after my modlling stuff got shipped 3000 miles and last but not least it is my first WIP. I hope you enjoy the ride and I would be pleased if I could get a piece of your knowledge if questions arise. The Subject of the build will be a 1/32 ME-BF109 E4 made by Eduard and added with a DB-601 engine and gun bay made from resin. The setting will be an all open maintenance display on a grassy airfield. The first hours happend to be in a lot of dust as I cleaned all the resin parts from their stubs, for me a nerv tangeling work, because it is so easy to break something important as the pour stubs sometimes are big and in difficult to cut areas. But that is history now, everything worked well. The details of the parts is exquisite and the kit engine is really no match. The cowlings are unbelievable thin and have all the inward details.
  12. I just started a new Project, a ME-109 E4 from Eduard with a resin DB-601 engine and resin gun mounts and some more resin in other areas. If that would qualify, I'm in.
  13. Thank you Gentleman, and indeed Jeroen the cans are marvelous resin and PE-pieces. You won't forget where the thrust comes from .
  14. Wonderful result. I followed your WIP with great interest, because I built the Gullwing myself. Nice to see such a wonderful result and convincing appearance. I'm a little bit jealous about your removable engine cowls , because I couldn't do it on mine with the Brassin engine.
  15. Happy new year and happy modelling to all of you. I want to show my last piece of modelling work in 2016. It was kind of a speed built, because I had to put my whole modelling stuff into a container because I left Germany for a little island. It was also my first encounter with the Jet-Age. The Eagle is one of Eduards limited editions called "Striking Eagles" and is packed with a lot of resin an PE extras which really improves the basic Academy Kit. I have to admit, that I really love the Brassin stuff since detailing and crispness of cast are outstanding. The PE makes building the Cockpit area so much easier and the ejection seats are a peace of art, but not easy to build because there are so many tiny parts. So is everything fine with the kit? There are some shape and fit issues with the Academy Plastic, especially with the big conformal fuel tanks and the nose cone. For the nose I chose an AM replacement made of resin, the rest of the Eagle is straight out of the well filled box. The worst problem occurred with the decals. The Insignia and Tail art went on smoothly, but I had all kind of trouble with the stencils. Normally I prefer masking and airbrushing to decaling, but no way with these stencils. The paintjob is applied free hand with Lifecolor-Acrylics which I start to like more and more because they have almost no tendency to sputter and the surface is very smooth. A thing I learned for future builds was that I never will put a clear coat on Alclad steel, because the area near the exhaust nozzles got grey after varnishing with Future. I really enjoyed most of the build and again learned a lot. Feel free to criticize the result Cheers Rob
  16. Really convincing save of a modelling crash landing . Since I have no FB I had no advance warning of crashing Rumplers (The german meaning of the word Rumpler is something like Rattler or Rumbler). Without you commenting the unwanted crash everything looked for me like a purposefully crash landing site of the Rumpelbird. Cheers Rob
  17. Nice detailed review, thank you. I always looked for a nice 1/32 release of the P-47D and was very anxious to see what is in the box. I would have liked the addition of more resin (Brassin) add-ons specially the engine as the detail on the plastic parts looks good but not perfect. Actually I'm really tempted, but there is a 1/48 P-47 waiting to be build from the same producer added with lots of resin an AM. Let's wait and see.
  18. Hi crazypoet, nice pair luckily not in 1/32 If you have issues with size or aftermarket parts, I have an alternative idea for a different setting. Cheers Rob
  19. Wonderful, the way you set the light it seems like the sun will set soon casting long shadows. Great atmospheric set up, like a snap shot from a movie.
  20. Great result, I like the paintjob and weathering. Are the Insignia and Numbers Decals? If they are, they are nicely settled and blended, If they are not (my guess), nice job of masking and finishing. Cheers Rob
  21. Hi Ozzy, scrape the seam away with a sharp blade, scraping as much as necesary and try to avoid damage beside the seam. The next step is polishing. I use a micro drill with polishing (cloth) head and a polishing paste, but you can use micromesh or these very fine Albion Micro Finishing Cloth Abrasive Pads-Set http://www.albionhobbies.com/flex-i-file-precision-abrasives/ with a range from 3200-12000 grit. Moist the pads a little to prevent from damage by loose abrasive material. After finishing the polishing process with the finest grid, clean everything up and dip the clear part into future or something similar as soon as possible, before the static functions as a dust magnet , voila seamless canopy all clear.
  22. Interesting approach with the "materialized" pre shading. I might try that in a future build.
  23. The P-38 is beauty and beast, packed in a very beautiful frame The Plane of the King
  24. Fantastic Paintjob. You took full advantage of the monochrome scheme. Because of that and the beautiful paneling the Komet looks really interesting and there is no way to be distracted from the powerful shape of the bird. Means something like "Like a flea, but great"
