I've just ordered the Minibase Su-33 from xfree so I'm waiting to see how that works out. I've heard good things about dawngrocerystore but haven't tried them yet. Carl

Good luck with the new job Mark. Carl

Steve, it's everywhere here too. You can even pick your colour: black, white, orange or brown. Then add your selection of length: short, medium or long. And of course lastly gauge: fine or coarse. To be honest, I pretty much have to wipe down as I go and I also keep a small desktop vacuum on the bench. I'm looking forward to the new bench and finally having a dedicated paint bench. Carl -

Rog, I usually check reviews first as well before ordering. It took less than a month to get here- shipped March 18, arrived April 5. I ordered it from Auroramodelshop I've ordered from them in the past without any issues. Last year they stopped shipping to Canada for some months as they couldn't guarantee delivery in a reasonable timeframe. They started shipping here again so I ordered the Me163. Yanworld0082013 is another I've ordered from. They often have lower prices but it has taken longer for purchases to get to me. In fact I've got the Border Tiger 1 coming from them at the moment. Carl

We knew there was some space back there but not how much. It's obvious that they closed it off as it was easier to build the wall straight across rather than make it fit. Thankfully there weren't any real surprises back there. Except for some scat from our cat who managed to sneak back there before we took it down. -

Man, the squirrel is strong this year. I've been having a hard time focusing on a single build. Case in point: With it being a Bandai kit, I might actually get to the end of it. Knock on wood. On a separate note, we had to fix the faucet at the front of our house which meant we had to take down one of the false walls in the basement. Doing so, we found a bunch of extra space which has led to the decision to reorganize the basement. Which means my bench will be moving soon. The good news is I'll finally get a dedicated painting area. Here's the space in question. The wall used to go straight across. You can make out where I cut it at the top left. It's now on the right side of the pic. The space actually extends an additional two feet behind that so is a fair size. Moving everything around should hopefully open up some more space overall. Looks good so far Kev. I've got a Revell 1/32 Beaufighter that I plan to use for a Black Friday build too. Carl -
The Quinta cockpit really does look impressive. And the paint on your Tomcat is even more so.

The brand is Sanxin. So far the only place I've found them is on eBay. Carl -

Yup, and today he just announced that schools won't reopen not one day after his minister of education said kids will be back in school as soon as possible. They need to get on the same page and stop contradicting each other. -
The Vallejo and Xtracrylix I gave to my boys to use on their models. MRP isn't available in Canada so I'm safe there and I don't even remember the last time I used Humbrol. Might have been their Metal Cote.

My big problem these days is paint. I keep trying different brands when I used to just stick to Tamiya acrylic and the odd jar of Gunze aqueous (when you could find it). Now, I have: - Tamiya acrylic - Tamiya lacquer - Mr Color - Gunze Aqueous - AK Real Color - Tru-Color - Mig I don't have the shelf space for them all. Carl

I remember helping a friend do a lift on his Jeep YJ. We used hockey pucks for the frame lift. Drilled a hole through them and stuck them between the frame and body. Nothing dodgey about that at all...

Ugh, yeah not so much fun. I remember when I wanted to get some 245/35/17s for my Civic. The shop owner refused as he said he didn't want me back there having to get the fender lips rolled. I argued that they would fit but he was adamant. Ended up with 235/40/17s which ended up giving me the grip I wanted so it worked out in the end.

It's definitely sturdy with no rattles. The instructions had torque specs for all the bolts and and they even have an anti-wobble mount in the hitch pin. I think its about 75lbs so definitely not thin gauge metal.

With the hitch now installed on the Element, I got the new bike rack assembled. It's made out in Vancouver so didn't take long to arrive here in Toronto. Thankfully it's a fairly straightforward job of bolting it together. I had it done in about 45 minutes. I mounted it on the Element and put my sons' bikes on it to see how it worked. It'll hold all four of our bikes and we can still open the rear hatch.

Actually it's because I wanted a hitch with a 2" receiver which meant a Class III hitch. Curt only lists a Class III hitch for the Element LX and EX but not the SC. I figured "how different could they be". Turns out that the SC has a different bumper so had to cut away the extra bumper mounts (angle grinder) and then straighten the centre hitch mounting plate (sledge). -

Went outside for this one. Got a hitch for the new car and installed it tonight. Ended up needing a small sledge hammer and an angle grinder to get it on. It ended up taking around an hour and half to get the job done. Instructions said 30 minutes and made no mention of angle grinders or sledge hammers. But we can put our bike rack on the car now. Next job is assembling said bike rack. -

Amazing engine there Hubert. Carl -
I checked my LHS for you but they're out if stock on the Rivet-R. If it's BNA, it may be worth checking out what the shipping costs are. Just put it in you cart and you can get an estimate on the shipping. I've found it's sometimes cheaper to get it from them than Sprue Brothers even though I'm in Canada. Go figure. Carl

@HubertB, @Bomber_County, I try to keep my workspace neat but it's usually a failure sadly. It has gotten better since I picked up my bench organizer. The Hobbyzone ones were just too expensive to get in Canada so I went with Arttystation. I believe Harv has them too.
