Phil, I think you've got me confused with JohnB. Although at this point he'd probably be getting it ready for paint to be honest. The only half part of it for me would be the parts scattered across half my bench. 2
belugawhaleman Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Well, probably coming to an end of my buying spree for awhile. Just 2 kits to post today.......one more kit to come later this week and then I'll hold off and start building what I've got....that is, until.... some special Kit comes along. Well, anyway, here's what I got today: First, from Tamiya comes their M551 Sheridan Vietnam War (35365) Looks good. Second, from Miniart comes their; D8506 Mod. 1937 German Tractor in 1/24 scale a bigger scale version of their Lanz Buldog tractors. This one has The tires , I purchased their Steel wheeled version earlier. These are great kits and the larger scale makes them, in my view, more appealing than the 1/35 versions. Anyway, I've got kit coming from IBG later this week of a kind of a cool little subject I may put a post up of that when it comes. 6 1

Martinnfb Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Carl , let me know when you get to it, I can send you this book. B&W, however with some nice pictures. 1
BlrwestSiR Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Thanks Martin. Honestly, the tank is mostly done. It just needs the hatches put on it and the main gun I think. Maybe some other small bits. 1
DocRob Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I picked these two for some change in a sale in Japan. For the Yamaha, I have some extras coming, like tobacco sponsor decals. This copy of a Pony Car appeals to me for some reason unknown: Cheers Rob 8
Bill_S Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I've got no immediate use for this yet, but I'm supposed to give a seminar to my club next month on preventing tail sitting. 4
belugawhaleman Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Some items today...... First; the kit that I mentioned in my last post...From IBG their Panzerkampfwaken TKS (p) #35047. This is the Polish tankette TKS in German service. This thing is tiny.....I mean really tiny! It has link & length tracks with the individual links being nearly microscopic. I think it will be a test of patience to build the tracks..daunting! IBG makes a simplified version of the TKS with the tracks molded in one piece but that's not for me. Next is a kit that I purchased after a discussion with my mom. she told me that her brother Roy aka "Bud" Wilkinson was stationed in England during WW 2 as a radio operator aboard bombers....I guess B 17s. Later, during the Korean war he would serve in the same role in B 29s and refueling aircraft ( B 50s ?) Anyway, I'll get back to the point. She told me that He brought back from England a scooter that was " carried on the bombers" and that it was fun to ride. I assumed it was the little Cushman scooter that the U.S. made for this purpose and I showed her a picture of that. She said, that wasn't it. Then I thought of the Welbike that the British made, ..showed her that, and she said it was that one....Cool! So I found that HLJ had one. Made by Dragon in 1/6 scale...ordered it. Got it in 2 days. The kit is ok, but is lacking decals and the engine makers Logo that was cast on engine crankcase.... Too bad. Otherwise, I think it will fun build considering our family connection to this bike. Next ; is a non-modelling related purchase. From ELIKLIV is their Digital Microscope Model: EDM4S. I bought it for use with coin collecting in mind... but, Ive been playing with this thing for a couple of days. It's fun....and yes, I did confirm that I needed a new needle for one of my airbrushes. Already ordered a replacement needle. The microscope has a 4.3 inch screen and the ability to take pictures and videos. .....I must say the instructions are pretty bad, leaving the user to find out the meaning of some terms used via Internet searches. Anyway it wasn't that costly....about $50.00 ....less than most model kits these days. 5 1

belugawhaleman Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Playing around with the digital Elikliv microscope that I mentioned in my Last post.....some images taken from it. They are close ups of parts from the Tamiya Sheridan kit and a nut from one of Meng's nut & bolts set. I didn't notice before, but the Sheridan's track pads have worn rubber effect Detail. And yes, I know the date stamp is wrong! 7 2
BlrwestSiR Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 (edited) I got a couple tools in the mail today. A pair of razor saws made by Galaxy. Stainless blades so hopefully a bit stronger than the ones I have now. The handles are rubber coated and being a bright red, it should make it easier to spot on my bench. I also got some masks for the Tamiya F-35A and the Takom Apache. Edited July 8, 2023 by BlrwestSiR Fix typo 8
mark31 Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 Found these 2 kits second hand. Hours off fun. Mark 7 2
ScottsGT Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 As always, I’m shopping for AM to go with my kits I already have in the stash. I bought this Eagle Transporter kit shortly after they came out. Just couldn’t stomach the $100 price tag of the machined aluminum engine bells. Surfing around I stumbled across the Eagle 2 set on sale for $64. But would it fit the Eagle kit? Took my chances and rolled the dice. Yep! Same parts but with the addition of two more bells for the auxiliary power pod on Eagle 2. Now, the big question. Build as is, or delete the crew pod and make it a heavy lift Eagle like the CH-54, but Space 1999 version carrying around a Star Trek Shuttlecraft keeping with my “Science Fusion” builds? I just need to find a 1/48 SciFy subject to go with it. Thought about a bottom half of a lunar lander, but that would be too realistic. 🤪 8 1
