Almost finished, only the engine cowling and the coolant pipe from the engine up to the wing radiator are still missing.
I hardly dare to write - the Albatros was started to be built sometime in 2009.

It took a while, but time was well spent ;). Thanks for sharing this jewel. I will store your pics as an inspiration for my recently acquired 'Wooden Wonder'

Very nice Albatros. And don’t worry about the long time. I still have an unfinished Aichi Hansa (a Hispano-powered, Japanese licence-built, W-29). I started scratchbuilding it in 2008, BEFORE WnW launched its kit, and also before it went OOP with WnW ;)

How big is your workbench that you can fit a 1:1 scale plane on it?!!!.

Truly stunning work there.

My thought's exactly.....................  I have my stash stacked up behind my Tahoe, and will now Back Up !................... that is an incredible build, I'm hardly worthy of even looking at it... wow.... that has to be one of the very best I have ever seen, ..........

Don’t hesitate to make me an offer ;) . It’s a nice kit, not without its fault, but it turns out into a nice result everytime I have seen one finished. The AM I  bought can contribute to making it even more stunning. I was thinking of kitbashing it with the Revell kit to correct the slightly too blunt wing-root radiators, and the Revell kit is a (free) part of my package :) If i can remember where I put it, I will add the Tasman vac-form transparencies, I KNOW I have, but where :wallbash: ?

And there is no beating the slender looks of a glass-nosed Mossie

Hubert

Thanks Hubert, your asking price of € 135 is an acceptable price, but could you calculate how much boxing it all up and shipping to Sydney Australia would cost? if its not excessive I'll most likely take you up on the sale. many Regards Iain

That does not look like a Mossie in any shape or form....

I know! There is a bit of engine work on the Mossie occurring, but I just have been having fun with the Albatross.   And, I need to practice so new wood techniques for my Mosquito.....

That Albatros is easily the nicest example I've ever seen.

I actually thought I was looking at a TVAL 1:1 reproduction!!

I thought the same thing, it wasn’t until I realized it was on a paper towel that it wasn’t 1:1.

Man, the squirrels really got to that one...:sofa:

Seriously though, I did have a Tamiya F-4J with squirrel teeth marks in it.

I started this little Academy guy yesterday as well. Joy to build.

A Hetzer! Nice. Sounds like it's going together well? I made the mistake of trying the Eduard one. Wow, talk about complicated.

Hmmm, me like power tools :)

The Academy kit just fills together, truly outstanding little kit. I built Italeri kit long time ago and wasn't super happy with it. Academy hits the spot perfectly, decent detail simple assembly. Fast and easy.
