I'm in the lucky position to have my own workshop, a big room with plenty of space and machines for woodwork and lots of tools. In there I have a huge desk for building and another for the spray booth and the photo booth. In winter time it is a little cold sometimes, but in summertime it is the coolest part of the house. We have lots of humidity in the air, which at least reduces dust problems while spraying. I had a similar booth like 1to1scale, but decided to enlarge it with a plastic container and add some lighting with LED strips which works fine. A 1/32 Mossie should go in without problems. Old Plan New Cheers Rob

Epic, good to see the boat in full bloom on your pics. This will be a stunner in Chattanooga. Bring her back in one piece, I'd love to see more pics here. Cheers Rob

Everything more or less fine by me, if there is no odor involved . Cheers Rob

The gun is coming together nicely. The Aber barrel will be a nice add on, given the visibility. If you burnish the barrel you don't loose detail to lots of primer and colour layers and get a nice matte black-brown finish. Cheers Rob

Ugh, new case of movie in my head, brrrrrr , I was better off without limericks. Cheers Rob

RSO Radschlepper Ost - Having a Break
DocRob replied to DocRob's topic in D-Day 75th Anniversary Group Build
Thanks Wumm, summer here is a little weak this year, spring was way better and that is pretty unusual. That I live on some Islands called the islands of eternal spring is a lie, but good for tourism. The early winter is mostly the best time of the year, with waves and bright and clear nights and definitely less thick clouds. So it's more like pick your action for the day depending the actual conditions, like surfing, if the wave is there hit it or other ways, if its cloudy and windy and humidity above 80% hit the bench with a nice cup of tea or whatever. RSO Radschlepper Ost - Having a Break
DocRob replied to DocRob's topic in D-Day 75th Anniversary Group Build
Finally some little things done, but got distracted with the RSO by lots of surfing in mediocre waves (they rarely are good around here due to the wind), Mountainbiking and a little wooden side project in 1/1 scale, a present for my wife. I'm on my way to build two Adirondack relax chairs for the garden and it has been fun so far. Back to the RSO, I applied some decals and did some highlighting with the AK pencils. After further highlighting I will add some chips and wear and then it will be dust. Cheers Rob -
HB P-61 finished FINALLY
DocRob replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Nice save, your Midnight Micky looks stunning. I never realized how many glass surfaces the P-61 has. Needs the OD finish to recognize it. Love the look you achieved with your home made decals. Isn't it satisfying to finish a SOD build. Time to lean back and proudfully sip the pictured Martini. Cheers Rob -
Thanks Mike

Nice Dauntless, pity that I'm on my little island and can't attend. The same kit could be my next build, but mine will show more exposure to the elements and maybe a crew. Have you done the wooden carrier deck by yourself? Cheers Rob

Nice, I don't have the guts for this one, but thought about it more often than any other kit. I have the Fe2b in my stash with spider web rigging and feel that I'm not up to do another one, hard thinking again…………………………...…………………………………. Cheers Rob -
Communist Russia’s Finest Passenger Service MI-4
DocRob replied to 1to1scale's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I love your attention to detail. The interior is looking great and I love the bar equipment. The only missing thing seems to be an issue of the Prawda. Cheers Rob -
Pictures you load up and don't insert into the thread are automatically placed on the lower part the thread. You have to delete them before you hit the 'Submit Reply' button. Anyway, the sprue shot is missing in the Universal Carrier section, so no harm done Fascinating how few parts Tamiya uses to represent a Universal Carrier. My Riich kit seems to have the parts count times three, not a comfortable thought on such a tiny vehicle. Cheers Rob

RCAF Lanc 10MP. This really is a group effort
DocRob replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Every build has a flaw, at least to the builder, good if it's such a minor annoyance . Are you planning an in flight display? If that's the case it could be a case of bad defogging or a bit of frosted ice. As the window has a simple shade, maybe one of those among us who do vac parts are able to produce a new one. Cheers Rob -
Ace stuff, I like your picket boat with all the different shades of wood and nice material approach. The large scale is an invitation to super detailing and that is what you do masterful. Cheers Rob

Great review of an unexpected plane. WNW has lots of aces up their sleeves and I really enjoy seeing more and more obscure subjects besides the Camels, etc. Am I the only one who doesn't like the manuals that much. Yes they are thoroughly researched, give a good idea about Colours and finished subassemblies, but the pure construction part, is where they lack sometimes. Rigging plans could be made a little more clear either. Beside that you can't go wrong with these kits and the Gotha is one to consider. The only thing hindering me is the wingspan. I don't build four engine planes from the WWII era for a reason. Cheers Rob

Maybe some Canadian Club in your breath, while celebrating the great big thing . I mostly Futurize clear plastic and have only issues if they stay masked for to long. Hopefully Future will cure your window. Cheers Rob -
C'mon , it's such a small period between WIP and RIP with your builds, give us quality shots John. I like what you are doing with the Midnight Mickey. Cheers Rob

That's my first limerick since I was in fourth grade of primary school, starting to study English language with the printed help of Peter Pim and Billy Ball, but it is FUNNY Cheers Rob

Hola Folks, I received this strange beauty today for less than 30€ incl. shipping, a true bargain. The Archer is right down my alley, a weird design, only the British could have been made. Driving one way shooting the other way, I love it. I can see the engineers thoughts in front of me: ' How are we supposed to get that gun onto the Valentine chassis. Is the engine hindering, we need a walkaround. This is like designing with duct tape and a swiss army knife . A first look into the box is promising, sharp details and length and link tracks, phew. Since Bronco announced it's version, I considered getting one for me, but now for that price I had to do it. To provide the fitting personell is a nice touch by Tamiya especially with these crammed open top vehicles where no aftermarket figures are fitting in without lots of surgery. Cheers Rob

Ok, some other possibilities Gaz, 'Zu schnell für Dich' to fast for you 'Krieg mich doch' Try catch me 'Mensch ärgere Dich nicht' is the German name of the classic board game called Ludo in English. The meaning is: Man, don't get annoyed because you get kicked out often. 'Schneller als die Polizei erlaubt' Faster than is permitted by the police 'Viel Feind viel Ehr' ' The more enemy, the more honor 'Neid muss man sich verdienen' Envy you have to earn 'Schnell wie die Feuerwehr' Fast as the fire brigade Cheers Rob

I see, I have a picture in my head, the plane is bright orange and carries the phrase 'Meisterjäger' which is something like 'master hunter' or 'hunter of the masters' in these old German gothic letters of the Jägermeister brand logo. When I lived in Berlin I once saw a guy on a bright orange race bike, with that Meisterjäger logo in white letters on the side and he was every bit of it. I hardly could follow him with my razor blade like KTM this time. Picture for discussing purpose only Cheers Rob
