RCAF Lanc 10MP. This really is a group effort
DocRob replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Maybe some Canadian Club in your breath, while celebrating the great big thing . I mostly Futurize clear plastic and have only issues if they stay masked for to long. Hopefully Future will cure your window. Cheers Rob -
C'mon , it's such a small period between WIP and RIP with your builds, give us quality shots John. I like what you are doing with the Midnight Mickey. Cheers Rob

That's my first limerick since I was in fourth grade of primary school, starting to study English language with the printed help of Peter Pim and Billy Ball, but it is FUNNY Cheers Rob

Hola Folks, I received this strange beauty today for less than 30€ incl. shipping, a true bargain. The Archer is right down my alley, a weird design, only the British could have been made. Driving one way shooting the other way, I love it. I can see the engineers thoughts in front of me: ' How are we supposed to get that gun onto the Valentine chassis. Is the engine hindering, we need a walkaround. This is like designing with duct tape and a swiss army knife . A first look into the box is promising, sharp details and length and link tracks, phew. Since Bronco announced it's version, I considered getting one for me, but now for that price I had to do it. To provide the fitting personell is a nice touch by Tamiya especially with these crammed open top vehicles where no aftermarket figures are fitting in without lots of surgery. Cheers Rob

Ok, some other possibilities Gaz, 'Zu schnell für Dich' to fast for you 'Krieg mich doch' Try catch me 'Mensch ärgere Dich nicht' is the German name of the classic board game called Ludo in English. The meaning is: Man, don't get annoyed because you get kicked out often. 'Schneller als die Polizei erlaubt' Faster than is permitted by the police 'Viel Feind viel Ehr' ' The more enemy, the more honor 'Neid muss man sich verdienen' Envy you have to earn 'Schnell wie die Feuerwehr' Fast as the fire brigade Cheers Rob

I see, I have a picture in my head, the plane is bright orange and carries the phrase 'Meisterjäger' which is something like 'master hunter' or 'hunter of the masters' in these old German gothic letters of the Jägermeister brand logo. When I lived in Berlin I once saw a guy on a bright orange race bike, with that Meisterjäger logo in white letters on the side and he was every bit of it. I hardly could follow him with my razor blade like KTM this time. Picture for discussing purpose only Cheers Rob

Habe ich noch nie gehört, sorry haven't ever heard that in my 50+years. Might be used in Bavaria, but not in Prussia . Cheers Rob

I think I have to now more about your project.

Fokker DVII of Ernst Udet 'not you' or 'actually not you'

Maybe this Gaz, which translates more or less to 'Like a flea, but watch out' from the ME-163. Cheers Rob

Uhuuh, not so easy, 'Fang mich doch' or 'Krieg mich doch' would be possibilities as a short catchy phrase, but without the 'if you can'. Completely it would be like 'Fang mich wenn Du kannst' oder 'Krieg mich, wenn Du es schaffst' not very catchy anymore with a comma and quite longish. Mind the capital letters in German as I wrote it. It might be better to use only capitals to get a decent look. May others have better ideas. I will think a little further, but maybe someone knows some historical backed phrases. Cheers Rob

Me too, maybe after the GB

Special Hobby Tempest Mk.V
DocRob replied to rkranias's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Good to see some progress here, Rick. The pit and wells look great with your wiring. Bummer with the Yahu IP, measuring and testing shouldn't be so hard prior to produce the stuff. Cheers Rob- 112 replies

Haha, not so bad at all, the Tamiya offering will be a P-38 F/G, my other one is a J ,so there speaks nothing against a second one https://www.themodellingnews.com/2019/07/tamiyas-148th-scale-lockheed-p-38-fg.html Cheers Rob

Clean work with the frames, your Mi looks great. Cheers Rob -
RSO Radschlepper Ost - Having a Break
DocRob replied to DocRob's topic in D-Day 75th Anniversary Group Build
Thanks Mike, I will alter that 'good' look to something more dusty Thanks Martin, I will get rid of the clean look as soon as possible and then there is figure painting, phew, not one of my strong sides. Cheers Rob -
Nice work on the wheels and hull, Gaz. Usually in Germany there is red cable for plus and black cable for minus, but like Martin said, it would have been surrounded by braided material or even flexible metal cover. Cheers Rob

Good news and a little sad for me. I had the limited edition of the Academy one from Eduard with all the goodies and lost it while moving to Spain. Some weeks ago I bought a new one from Academy and added all the PE and resin, bummer. Teaser, it's not the Tamiya roll out Cheers Rob

Sweet, never liked the Salmson that much, personally, but that might change. The Interieur and engine looks great. BTW, welcome to LSM. Cheers Rob

Convert Eduard Limited Edition SBD-5 Dauntless to SBD-3?
DocRob replied to crazypoet's topic in Modelling Discussion
I have the same kit in stash, but will build the provided New Zealand version, therefore I never looked for conversion sets. The plastic of the kit is from Accurate Miniatures, maybe that helps. Cheers Rob -

Outstanding, you mastered the difficult rendition of material and texture, great work. Cheers Rob -
1/35 Tiger 1 - Late Production.
DocRob replied to Bomber_County's topic in D-Day 75th Anniversary Group Build
Actually some of their later issues have length and link tracks again, luckily. Last week I ordered the Archer, one of the later kits for nearly nada and it has length and link tracks, phew. Like you I hate the rubber stuff and spent many hours with assembling metal or plastic tracks, but it's worth the effort. Cheers Rob
