Kaireckstadt Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Today I want to present to you my finished F4U-1A Corsair Diorama. The work in progress pics are here: I had the idea for a propaganda-scene when I came across the figure of a cameraman from the US Navy of WWII in 1/35 and the Black-Sheep VMF-214 wooden sign in 1/32 scale from King&Country. The figures are a pilot out of the Kit, a director and a mechanic and a woman soldier of the Navy Medical Corps adoring the kill-marks on the plane. Especially the Ultracast figure of Boyington is beautifully sculptured. The airfield plates are from Brengun and the turnable plate from IKEA. The palms are handmade and come from a German Diorama Accessoires supplier. Thanks for looking. FullSizeRender.mov 11 2

Painting the Corsair was a real challenge and I learned a lot regarding airbrushing and other weathering techniques. It was also the first model on which I used my H&S Infinity Airbrush. Since then it’s my reliable tool. You can really do everything with it. Figure painting is not that difficult. Maybe you can try it once again when building the He-219... 3

Administrators Clunkmeister Posted January 2, 2022 Administrators Posted January 2, 2022 I’m gone for a few months, and when I come back, world class builds are all over the place. Amazing result! 2
Daywalker Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Amazing build, love the story portrayed here! I am also very impressed by your weathering on this one, especially the chipped paint on the wing roots following the rivet lines and the fuel stains on the fuselage from the filler cap on the nose. Can I ask how you achieved those effects? Stunning work! 2
Martinnfb Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Somehow I missed out on this fantastic build, very impressive Cheers Martin 2
