  1. The Bandai kits are absolutely fantastic. If they ever decide to do something not sci-fi related, the big boys will be quaking in their boots. Carl
  2. Really great work Rob. I like the inner fuselage framing that you've done. I'll need to find some of those connectos as well. Carl
  3. Fran, the parts arrived today. Thought you'd like to see what they look like: Here's the front half of the Blockade Runner. Here's the shield generators. Engine bells. They're packed in a cardboard tube to keep them safe. The Millennium Falcon. These are the first bits I've orders from Falcon 3D but I'll definitely have to consider their figures for my Bandai 1/72 Falcon now. Carl
  4. Congrats on not just a great looking model but making the cover too! Carl
  5. The premier just announced that in-class learning isn't starting on Monday as it had been scheduled prior to the Christmas break. They're postponing it a further 2 weeks minimum. So the boys are going to have to learn online for a bit longer. At least the school board got it together this time and it's actually working. Meantime, at the day care where my nephew goes one of the caregivers tested positive so all the kids there have to stay home for 2 weeks even if they test negative. My sister is so thrilled. Carl
  6. There's a couple of the Male/Female kits listed on eBay. Hannants- has a Fruil metal track set in stock for the kit. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ATL-148?result-token=rB852 A bit more work than the Takom but might still be easier than the kit ones. Carl
  7. Adding to the ICM news, they have a pair of 1/48 B-26K Counter Invaders coming out. One will have Vietnam war ground crew included.
  8. Pretty soon, there won't be much of the base kit left with all these upgrades Special Hobby keeps putting out. Carl
  9. Very nice Phantom! A gloss black finish is so hard to do cleanly. Carl
  10. Well, looks like someone didn't get the email as ICM seems to be coming out with some early AH-1 Cobras in 1/32: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235086344-132-bell-ah-1g-cobra-by-icm-release-in-2021/ Carl
  11. Cees, on my last couple Tamiya F-4 builds I hid the seam by painting a thin strip of tan along the clear parts. This reproduces the look of the sealant that's used on the 1/1 canopies. Carl
  12. Just catching up on this. Missed this from when you first posted it. I think a bunch of the smaller Japanese model companies shared moulds back and forth. Also some were bought out by other brands as a few have closed. Carl
  13. Thanks Phil. I've rethought how I approach some of these bigger projects and won't get as crazy on them as I might have in the past. At least that way I stand a chance at finishing one of them.
  14. Great cockpit and nice milestone! Time for paint. Carl
  15. Ian, I think the panel on the engine cowling is from a Canadian built MkX. Likewise the rad shape. Which works out for me since Ropey is a MkX. Carl
  16. Sounds like the fun that is removing the raised "BDR" patches on Tamiya F-4 kits. I've done that 3 times so far. Carl
  17. Looks like the "fun" bit was very much worth it. Carl
  18. Nice to finally see one of these kits being built. From your pics, it's doesn't look bad at all, especially for a first try. How are you finding it? Is there any issues with the different media and production processes ( eg.- cast vs.3D printed parts). Carl
  19. Ian, any chance the pin marks in the bay doors will be covered by an inner door or bits from the PE set? Thankfully I'll only have to deal with it on one of my Lancs as the second will be a Dam Buster Carl
  20. Sue and I were talking about this last night. The trip, not Ernie smuggling us across the border. She brought up a good point that if the 2 week quarantine requirement is still in place, that would scuttle things as we wouldn't be able to afford being off for 3 weeks from work (1 week vacation plus the 2 week quarantine). Also it would then overlap into the start of the school year for the boys. So definitely will have to wait and see.
  21. Had a huge scare last night with the Stratos. I thought I'd lost one of the shocks. I couldn't find it anywhere, even cleaned the bench up a bit looking for it. I started looking at options which mostly involved stealing the rear shocks from the same 934 the wheels came from. Called it a night at that point. This morning I looked again and still no luck. I finally decided to double check the kit box. The part is still on the sprue...
