stash problem

Yes the stash off unbuild models.

i whas going tru my stash and now got me thinking.

Why the ..... do i need 4 Phantoms in 1/32?

I also have 9 leopard tanks al difrent versions

Also a bunch off cars in the big scale and other stuff

 

I think i have to cut in the stash or going to work very hard to get all my kits done.

But maybe its a problem off most off us.

Amateur’s stash!  
Mines all boxed up, but off the top of my head….all 1/32 of course  

6 or 7 ea. F-16 kits.

9 12 ea. Phantoms. 5 are Tamiya. Rest are Revell.

2 ea. A-10’s

3 ea. F-18’s. C, E & F

2 ea. T-6 Texans

2 ea. C-5 Galaxie’s (Derp!  1/144)

2ea. F-105’s

2 ea  B-17’s

2 ea B-25’s  

edit: 3-1/48 C-130’s to add  

And to add icing to the cake, I’ve already built 3 Phantoms and 8 F-16 kits. 
 

Which reminds me.  I need to get off the internet and go visit my building bench!

I just counted...   

76 kits waiting to be built!

3 of them are 1/350 scale ships.

7 are non-WNW or mengnut wings LSP's.

7 are WNW or mengnut wings LSP's

6 are 1/48 scale twin engined fighters or bombers.

The rest are 1/35 scale armor, mainly Dragon, but with a few Tamiya.

I hope I live to build them all.

Moved the 1/32 stuff out of the loft last year, but the 1/48 1/35 and 1/350 are still up there, have to build faster.

I just counted my stash......I actually have more like 70 kits!

Mine is kind of stable at the moment. Stable in that it's not likely to topple over from more kits being added to it. 

Having two sons who occasionally 'borrow' 1/72 kits from my stash helps to keep it in check. Or creates more room for new additions. 

Haven't done a count in a long time. might be a bit afraid to.

This was the biggest part of my stash before I had to box it all up for the move. 

I kind of miss having them all out for my own “display” setup in my basement.  Now they are all in moving boxes in lofts I built in my new garage.  Just no room in my shared downstairs.

Y’all are rank amateurs!  I have absolutely NO idea how many kits are in my stash.

3 Lancs: 2x HK and 1x Bordernut

3x B-17: 1x late G, 2x E/F

2x B-24

6x T-28s, both B and C

1:200 Arizona, Titanic/Olympic/Britannic, Hood, Bismarck, Yamato, etc

150+ Wingnut kits

Various Tamiya, ZM, Hasegawa, Trumpetboss, and other mainstream kits

1/24 Tiffie of each type, and two 1/24 F6F’s  

and a complete closet filled with resin: multiple of each HPH kit in 1/32 except for DC-3 and PBY of which are only one each, multiples of all 1/32 Silver Wings and most Lukgraph, HapH 1/72 Russian airliners, and one each 1/48 B-36, B-52, and B-70.

I’ve trimmed it down a bit, getting rid of multiples of plastic stuff I might only build one of, but have picked up JetMads Viggen and soon to get Stilleto and Lear. 
Y’all will have some good pickings once I check out for good. 
Had done some remodeling of my barn to suit the old car situation, so models have all been moved to the other side of the building.

I keep explaining to my wife that it's just like a womens shoe collection, you have to have a large selection to choose your next build from.

average build time x number of kits = number of years

number of years to completion to large, option open a shop as Mark suggested

OMG. I'm a rank amateur among some of the finest stash collectors/builders on the planet. I have a pale 40 kits in the stash, spread out between 32nd, 48th, 1/144 aircraft and 1/12 and 1/24 car kits. A growing collection of Quinta 3D Resin decals, maybe 50 -75resin AM sets and a small number of AM decals.

Paints, supplies and tools keep multiplying and it's been nearly impossible to control it.

Ok, I was waiting on Ernie to jump in and nock over all the dominos.   OK guys, y’all go for the stash. I want the ‘57.  I’ve even thought about selling the ’66 Mustang GT Fastback or trading it for one.  But something tells me that wouldn’t fly with the wife.

I never use the words "stash" and "problem" in the same sentence. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. About 150 kits - nearly all 1/32 aircraft.

The Chebbie is gone. Sold. Not a Chebbie guy, but my wife thought she’d like it. She didn’t.   Replaced by a 55 Sunliner project and paid back some business related accumulated Covid debt.

I wouldn’t get rid of the 66 for anything. They drive and handle great in the modern world, 50s cars on the other hand, are cool to look at, full of class and style from a bygone era, but ride like a half melted marshmallow, brake and turn like the Queen Mary, and are blessed (cursed) with an engine way, way more capable than the brakes and suspension can handle. 
Plus, the steering columns are simple steel pipes, perfect for impaling yourself on in a crash.

Yes, guys modify them with newer everything, modern brakes, frames, tilt wheels, modern A/C, cruise, sound systems, stupid huge chrome wheels with rubber band tires, etc, but then they lose their mystique. They end up being simply a modern car that looks old. 
As difficult as they are to drive in the modern world, they are the best grin maker available this side of a P-51.

Your Mustang looks cool, and compared to the 50s stuff, handles and drives like a modern car.  
You want a 50s car that works in today’s world?  Look very closely at 55-57 Thunderbirds. Not crazy expensive, handle GREAT, a lot of power, a ton of them out there, and stupid fun to drive.

Yep.  Once, back in the day, single seater Wingnut kits were less than $60 shipped right to your door. That’s half what a Tamiya kit was selling for.
