Okay, so thanks to Jim fixing the picture upload issue I'll now have to show how bad my figure painting (and photography) is!

This is as good as I'm going to get these and they look better in the flesh, at least from 5ft away, than they do here. My camera is stuffed so these are the best I could get with my phone.

The Alpine miniatures commander was definitely easier to paint than the Miniart figures due to the crisper moulding. The shoulder badge on the commander was meant to be the Desert Rats but I've done my best to try and approximate the Bull of the 11th Armoured.

So, next step into the unknown is on with the base....

That’s better than I can do………I have 12 of Them to do on the Famo build…..good result in the rugby today……

All four northern hemisphere teams winning on the same day. Wish I'd put a few quid on that as I suspect it was pretty long odds!

A dozen on the Famo and another half-dozen here, you're certainly going to get plenty of practice with the figure painting Phil!

Getting bored waiting on coats of putty to dry on the Fisher Cougar so I decided to pull the old C-17 out of the moving box labeled “shelf of doom”.   I forgot how long ago I started this kit. It has that nasty Squadron green putty on it.  I started using Tamiya white at least 5 or 6 years ago.
Let me see if I can straighten out these amateur mistakes I made probably 10-15 years ago.

Working on Tamiya's M3 Stuart right now. Not much to show

right now. Had an aftermarket barrel by Master to use but found I couldn't

make it work with this kit the kit barrel is about 5/16 inch shorter. It would have required

cutting the aftermarket barrel. Drilling out the Kit mantlet.... Well, I don't think that would

have worked as it would leave little support for the mantlet and make the assembly

Inoperable. So 86 on that. I have some aftermarket M1919 barrels by Master but I decided they would work better on another kit. So..this will be just an  OOB build......

..with the exception of the decals. The decals will be for a 1950's Cuban tank.

I don't have much to show right now, but may post on works in progress.

Basically, I have the hull assembled minus the bogies. These have to be assembled

after painting the separate parts. I'm going to mask and paint the wheels first, then

assemble the painted suspension halves and touch them up after assembly. I'm

not willing to try hand painting the tires with the suspension assembled. I will

mask the road wheels using tape cut with Dspiae cutter. Painting the wheel olive, mask in the center then painting the tires. Sorry about the lousy picture, ill follow up later.

Made a start on the base. Using air dry clay I've roughed out the base. Once this is dry I'll use a soil mix for the muddy areas and the Gero Design bricks seen at the left to recreate the roadway in the sunken central section. I know how I want it to look in my head, I just hope it works out.😕

Yeah, me too.  As exhibit A I point to my one and only attempt at figures painting:  the crew for my Gotha. The look stoned and all have the thousand yard stare.
Plus, it looks like the aircraft commander has a dueling scar. 😬

Maybe a 'Schmiss', not uncommon for German officers of the time. A Schmiss is a scar caused by a sword in a strongly regulated duel, with blinded eyes, which was typical for conservative students associations.

Cheers Rob

So another beautiful day day in Blighty, who would guess so a little more al fresco modelling.

Been awhile since I did a Tamiya AFV straight, pretty much a shake and bake. Did find some AM squirrelled away…..
