RCAF Lanc 10MP. This really is a group effort

At Least they kept the integral shape of the Lancaster with 104, not that abomination like on 217.... I think 104 is by far one of the prettiest post war Lancaster's in the world, and thanks to the restoration gods she will fly again ! Love you attention to detail Ernie...and a true modeller......I'm still lurking here....

Your #217 “Yellow Submarine” shot looks like a converted Grand Slam bomber, with unfortunately added portholes. Your #104 Lanc looks like they just covered over the turret shape and not removed it. Any reason why your #104 glasshouse cockpit had so much white coverage added, was it for any blackout required for instruments?

Iain, I agree completely with your take on 104's nose turret. That's exactly what I thought that they did. The gun runs for elevation are still quite prominent, albeit sheeted over. And the rest of the turret just looks like it was either sheeted in aluminum or something similar.

Those portholes are hideous, eh?

As for the greenhouse, all I can say for sure is that this particular aircraft was used for long overwater sovereignty patrols, and being that they no longer had a need to watch for enemy aircraft, they were more concerned about keeping the sun's heat and glare out of their eyes.

You realise that they will refer back here for the final scheme as they will assume you have studied the aircraft more than anybody else and as such . . . 'Your the man '

It will recently be an eye catcher, head turner when she flys over for real

LOLOL. And I used the SWAG method the same as everyone else would.  haha!  I never actually thought about that. I'll need a disclaimer at the end.

Well, the first bit of smoothing and the first coat of prime reveals this.

And this side is a bit bulbous on the rear edge yet. A bit more slimming and we’ll be good. :)

After that, I’ll use some Tamiya tape on the rear and lower edge to simulate High Speed Tape.

Happy Me.
