HubertB Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Mark31’s post in Ernie’s F-105 build prompted this interrogation: what is the biggest box in your stash ? The size of the box does not necessarily correlates with the size of the content, btw. Some manufacturers have an uncanny capacity to have big boxes for average-sized kits. Take for instance Revell’s Hunter kit : the box uses a lot of acres, for an aircraft that is not so big in the end, if certainly not diminutive. I’ll bite for my question : Trumpeter’s Titanic is easily the biggest box in my stash, and it’s full ! AMT’s LZ-129 kit (in 1/225) is close on its heels, but this one is rather full of air . And to conclude, 3 of my biggest boxes are ship kits. Hubert 5
mark31 Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 the biggest box will be my revell apolo 1/96 and next the trumpeter T-72 1/16 what whas i thinking with that kit Mark 5
Vandy1 VX-4 Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 For me I think it has to be my old Lindberg PT109 for the boats. For Aircraft it has to be either Trumpeter F-14B Tomcat or HPH PBY-5A Catalina. But those F-8 Crusaders are big boxes, But they are thin. Have you seen Airfix EH-101 kits box? 5
BlrwestSiR Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 For me, this is an easy one. My Max Factory VF-1S Strike Valkyrie: Here it is compared to the HB B-24 which is not a small box either: Here's the owner of Max Factory when he announced the kit. 4 3 3 1
GazzaS Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 It's either the 1/350 scale Seydlitz, or WNW Albatross Trilogy. 3

DocRob Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Nothing too exotic in my stash size wise. The biggest boxes should be HK's Uhu and B-25 only outranked by an Italeri Vosper boat, all boxes fitted to the brim with precious AM. Cheers Rob 4 1
Andy the Sheep Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 My small stash (about 10 kits) is proudly displaying the EduArt P40N and the Takom Panther ausf.G w/steel weels full interior: quite big boxes and rather full but not as big as those of BlrwestSir. Sorry but no pics available; I'm divided from my bench and stash by COVID security measures as I've been caught by the movement restrictions in the middle of the transfer to a new house... Andrea. 4 1
belugawhaleman Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Trumpeter T34/76 1943 in 1/16 scale. 7
Bomber_County Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Only big box is my Tamiya Mosquito and it’s full of kit and AM as I collect...... 4

ScottsGT Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Tallest would be either my 1/72 Gato sub or the 1/200 Arizona. Biggest?? Tough call. Hobby Boss B-24 or maybe the huge box the 1/48 B-29 comes in. 3

Now if I could only get my hands on an SBY 2199 in 1/200 ... with Falcons/Seagulls etc ... that would make my year!! ... and probably be the biggest box in my stash ... as it is it'll be a toss up between the HK heavies, the Airfix 1/24 Mosquito or the Trumpeter 1/16 Panther ... Don't have time to measure them ... Rog 3

HubertB Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 Well, so far, we can say that Carl has the biggest of us all ... Hubert 2 2

In that case, I've also got the Yamato 1/3000 SDF-1 from Do you Remember Love in kit form. If I knew what those go for these days I wouldn't have started it but so it goes. Is there a 1/200 Yamato? I have the Bandai 1/500 and they did a 1/350 but the old version. Hachette has a 1/350 part work of the SBY2199 version. 2
ScottsGT Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Looking at the stash today, I think the Revell 1/48 B-1B kit takes the prize in my collection. Box is huge! 4
harv Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 If I had the space, I think I'd get another one....harv 1
1to1scale Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 The biggest box in my stash is two, I have the complete Deagostino Millenium Falcon in two large 27 gallon totes. And they are packed tight! 3
