As many of you know, I have had some setbacks from Medical issues. Nothing really serious but still enough to seek medical treatment. Nothing is solid yet, still looking. Anyway I'm writing this to say the Horton Mystery ship is on hold indefinitely. Hands are still trembling from meds but getting better. That and the fact I'm tired of fighting the conversion. But when I feel comfortable with building, I'm thinking of pulling out my F4-D gun ship i put away 4 yrs ago after my dad passed. Sapper Six has given me an itch to start back on it. I will still be going to Nooga but empty handed. Thanks all of you for your support and help. This bunch is awesome ..........harv

Harv, your Mystery Ship is coming along nicely, and if it has to be put away for a while that's not a bad thing...... when you're ready to get back to it, it will be like a new kit all over again, and will spark a renewed adventure in building and research....... until then, do like I have been doing for the pas few months, I build vicariously through this crew here....... just keep posting and talking with us and keep us as up to date as much or as little as you feel you want, we're here for the best support we can give, albeit many miles apart, hang in there pal, and concentrate on getting back to feeling better........ if there is anything that we can do just ask..... we are a brotherhood.....if we don't look after each other , who will?

I hope all is well with you Harv or at least comfortable.

I'm currently being ripped apart with Kidney stones so I too am not capable of sitting for long periods to do what I want to do.

Wow buddy,, I have stones too but very mild. I am comfortable  but it stays on my mind. Mostly nerve probs. Bad headaches,  double vision, tingling on my left face and neck. So far I have had two MRI's 4 blood tests, 2 neurologist, 3 eye drs.. so it's a bit frustrating.  Then my dr. Put me on steroids for bone spurs in my neck and now my hands shake. Tried some bench time but not happening. I hope your stones pass soon and get some relief.....

Speaking of conversion Harv...

Next time you're at the Doctor or especially the Neurologist, ask them about the possibility of Conversion Disorder. It is a real condition that often mimics some of the symptoms you are displaying, that cannot be readily diagnosed through an actual cause or event.

No actually I am quite serious.

My former Partner had MS-like symptoms, that occurred just after an MRI to pinpoint the exact position of her Breast Cancer. She had a severe reaction to the Gadolinium dye used in the scan; as this was just a day or two before her surgery, the lines were blurred as to which caused what when her symptoms started to appear. She initially experienced the Lymphoedema expected in Breast Cancer patients in the left arm after surgery; but this soon extended to swelling in all limbs, face and torso, vision problems, trouble swallowing, numbness and trembling, and SEVERE nerve pain all over her body including headaches.

There were 3 schools of thought so far as what was happening... It was either sudden onset of MS, from a result of poisoning from the MRI dye, or Conversion Disorder. MS couldn't be proven as she was now deemed to be allergic to MRI dye and regular scans do not show the MS brain lesions. The Hospital that administered the MRI denied all liability as she had signed the usual waiver before the procedure and they claimed that such an adverse reaction had never happened at the facility before or since.

Conversion Disorder was not officially recognised in Australia at that time. The theory is that it's a Neurological condition in otherwise healthy Individuals that manifests after a significant trauma... Such as being told you have Cancer, or having a chemical dye injected into your body that gives you a small Heart attack. It's symptoms often mimic those similar to Multiple Sclerosis.

There are 3 Optho-Neurologists in Brisbane, she saw two at her own cost who gave her different opinions, MS and CD. Her Insurance denied looking at CD because it wasn't recognised, and wouldn't cover MS because it couldn't be proven because they couldn't use the dye to show whether the lesions were present. And they weren't interested in pursuing the Hospital, and Karen could no longer work so it wasn't an option for us either.

Conversion Disorder is now recognised here as a real condition, as it has been for some time now Stateside. Please have your Medical people at least look into it at your next visit Harvey.

Crap, I just saw this thread!  Dang, y’all!  Harv, I hadn’t talked to you in a couple weeks and I just wrongly assumed you made a run to California or something.

We love ya Harv! Your health and welfare come before all else.

Models are just a hobby. Living is somewhat more important, so much so that a hobby can’t be accomplished without the alive thing being there first.

We’ll see you in a few weeks, health allowing, and we’ll chill out and have a few laughs.

Here’s a couple pics to make you smile.  As in WHY was the RCAF blatantly supporting ARC and not LSM?

I call for an investigation! A Royal Commission! A Congressional Inquiry!  “sniff”

Hey Harv

Sorry to here about your situation, that's a real bummer. I kind of know what you feel. It's some times very hard for me to get modeling sessions in, because of my severe back and nerve pain, brought on from surgery for a liver transplant. On those days I just rest and take it easy. On the days that I can model Itry to do as much as I can stand. Then I have to take a break to recover for the next time.

I guess I should give you all an update of sorts. So for the last 4 months I have had bad headaches, double vision, tingling on left side of face and sever pain on left side of neck. As of now most has diminished somewhat . Double vision is no longer a prob. I have had 2 MRI's, one of my head and one of my neck. Head is ok, neck, well not so much. After seeing several different dr., I ended up at a neck specialists. seems arthritis, and crumbling bone and age, has had it toll on me. So he did a "test" with nerve triggers, injections in the spine, to see if it momentarily stopped the pain and tingling. Well it kinda did. So waiting for his office to get back with me on next step. In the mean time  , a neurologist is also treating me for  essential tremors (hand shaking). was starting to get worst. But it seams that is helping. So, the F4 is on the bench and hoping to get to it. I even thought about doing a review on my BRASSIN F4 seats. But I really appreciate all of you. You make this site what it is, the best around......harv
